I have read all of the other books in the Throne of Glass series--except this one-- looks like I better get on it! 😉
So this happened today I swear I only going for the first three books lol. I own all of them but they are in storage and I really want to read the series. I had to get Heir of Fire on my kindle because the last person to check it out lost the book and my library has yet to get a new copy. #TOG #SarahJMaas
I‘m always scared to read companion books before they were meant to be read and accidentally spoiling something that happens later in the series, so I tend to read them AFTER all the main books in a series, but in this case I think the payoff of reading this is greater the earlier in the series you read it. So read this EARLY!!! BEFORE you get to KoA (I like a certain someone). Was pleasantly surprised by the story quality, a great collection.
I noticed my TBR shelf is getting a little too full, so I need to get reading, and I realized I do have all the books for the Throne of Glass series.
Does anyone have a recommendation as for when to read The Assassin‘s Blade while reading the series?
Also yes having a mix of hardback and paperback drives me a little crazy but if I like the series enough, I‘ll work on getting one type! 🤪😅
I almost forgot! I got new bookends! 😁😁😁 #Bookends
I am officially done with the Throne of Glass series. I wish this book would have drawn me in at first when I picked it up when I started the series so I could have gotten the whole back history of Calaena. But I am glad that I came back to it when I finished all the other books. Now for the 1st time in 9 days I am going to have to try to figure out what to read next!
I would leave furniture behind before I would leave my books! I like the way Celaena thinks! 📚🙌🏻📚🙌🏻
I had a hard time getting into these stories. I think jumping into them in the middle of the series was a bad idea because it doesn‘t seem to satisfy me. I also believe if I started the series with this book I would not want to continue on with the series. In the end I love this series and while this anthology is not all that gripping it‘s still back stories to a main character that I care about. ⭐️⭐️⭐️
I am going in!!! This is a total blame it on Litsy read. I hope this series is just as amazing as everyone says it is!!!
Just so you know my order, I've read the first 3 in the series already. I knew this was a prequel but I was so happy and surprised to learn the stories Celaena mentioned in the previous novels. I loved learning more about Sam but I was not prepared for the relationship between her and Arobynn and where it ended before she left.

We had one of our favorite customers (a teen as of next week) ask us to host her birthday party at the shop 😍. Her mother wants to buy gift cards for all the guests as party favors ❤. Their way of supporting the shop and advertising for us they said 🤩❣#fullhearts #booklovers She is such a voracious reader & fun to talk to! I was next door & she left this note with a book she is letting me borrow that she wants me to read 😊. (Continued...)
It snowed on and off today which I loved! In between geyser I was able to get some reading in as I drove the family from the Western Entrance of Yellowstone down to Jackson Hole. Ready for waffles tomorrow morning 😍

Full day of hoping from place to place while avoiding the rain! Picked up most of the souvenirs I wanted for me and my friends. Bonus was reading in between bison traffic stops. Just finished Heir of Fire and now on to this one!

It only took me almost two months to get over my book slump and to finish this book! I loved to see all of the history behind Celaena💕
This was really slow for me.The Underworld was my favourite. The sexual tension between Celaena and Sam was driving me insane so FINALLY something was happening! I am a HUGE sucker for a really good romance, so yay! Overall, I‘ll give the book 4-stars because the story wasn‘t too bad, the romance was good, and it made my heart REALLY HURT!
“My name is Celaena Sardothien, and I will not be afraid”
“The Assassin‘s Blade” may be the prequel to the Throne of Glass series, but it is just as important and heart-wrenching compared to the other novels. This book is a fantastic insight into who Celaena Sardothien was in the beginning, and how her adventure started. Despite a few grammar errors, Maas certainly knows how to rip your heart out into a million pieces. We did not deserve Sam Cortland and I‘m definitely bitter right now.
He was dead.
Sam was dead.
She wouldn't leave him like this in this cold dark room. She climbed onto the wooden table and lay beside him, stretching an arm across his middle, holding him close.
The body still smelled faintly like Sam. And like the cheap soap she'd made him use.
Celaena buried her face in his cold, stiff shoulder.
She wouldn't leave him.
Celaena closed her eyes. She wouldn't leave him.
She wouldn't leave him.
I wasn‘t disappointed! A lot of others told me this was going to be a hard one to get through. I found that to be completely opposite! I love Sarah‘s writing and am completely dragged in, even if it‘s just a few pages of reading. I read a novella a day but could have finished it faster. The Red Desert was my favorite of all 5. The only thing i can‘t get past is how Sarah pick all these names that are hard to pronounce and then she had SAM! 😂
When I set out to start the ToG series the comment I got the most was that Assassin‘s blade was the hardest to get through, I am finding that to be false. Even know I am limiting myself to one story a day. (Buddy reading) I am finding it hard to stop at one story. I thought maybe character development was going to be bland but I am loving it all! On to the next story today!
Starting today! High hopes 😁
I know, I'm extremely far behind. With Kingdom of Ash coming out, I finally decided to jump into the ToG series. This book had me raging so much at Arobynn and just how low he could sink. I'm still mad! 😂 So, no surprise, I'm jumping into Throne of Glass straight away! I'm officially hooked!
