This book is a definite go to kind of Western. All the things you love about the old west without the old school cliches. Smart, resourceful characters underlaid with wry, sly humor and dialogue to make you swoon. I've read this 3 times now and it never fails to wow me.

I ripped through Deception Island by Brynn Kelly at breakneck speed which is a testimony to the pacing of this book. Smart characters, dangerous villains, and a fun, breathtaking plot. It's a definite win and I can't wait for her next book!

I started and finished this on vacation and while not a cozy beach read the story hooked me from the very first page and dragged me through delightfully all the way to the end. Charlotte is a painful mystery to poor Watson and I very much looked forward to answers about the young Holmes as much as I did to the central plot resolution. Flirty, dangerous and fun, this is a must read! #recommendsday

I'm a huge Higgins fan and this one hit the mark in all the right places. The dual stories of Ainsley and Kate were woven seamlessly together and I never felt one sister had more of a story than the other. I was hesitant for a moment, afraid there would be sisterly friction instead of support but instead this was a story of once distant sisters coming together and carrying the other through their grief as only women can.

As always Bryson sucks you right in but I've let my reading of this go on and on, setting it aside for sometimes weeks at a time and then dive back in when I need a little pick me up. Diverting and fresh, Bryson makes me long for Australia. #recommendsday

Flat out funny and insightful. I'll never get tired of Maddie finding panties that don't belong to her in her husband's car and the craziness that ensures. Knife-sharp dialogue and characters who push the acrion, this book is a go-to when others fail me.
