I really enjoyed this collection of thought provoking poems. I struggled with some of the sexual & abuse poems but this didn‘t effect the overall enjoyment too much!.
Reading this has certainly made me want to read more poems in 2018 if anyone has any recommendations?x

I really enjoyed this rating it 4 out of 5 stars on Goodreads. Based in Yorkshire & following the girls who worked at the factory. It was interesting to see what was expected of the ladies when they reached a certain age, the challenges they faced through War time & the aspirations. A very enjoyable read.

Because The Sleepers Castle has just released it spurned me into reading this.An action packed historical fiction dual time regression novel set in 12th Century Wales which thrusts you back in to the 20th Century. It features a sassy news reporter who finds out she was Matilda of Hay,Wife of William Da Braose,in love with the Knight Richard De Clare and fleeing the death threats of King John.Released 25yrs ago it has really stood the test of time!

Loreen One of my favorites! I'm glad you enjoyed it. 👍🏼 8y
CleverGirl I loooooved this book. I think I read it because Diana Gabaldon recommended it in The Outlandish Companion. It did not disappoint! 8y
Whatannareads I loved this book read this must be nearly 10 years ago now! She has a recent one called sleepers castle that's set in Hay like this one x 8y

Humans of New York: Stories | Brandon Stanton

I adored this book. Brandon Stanton stops strangers in New York and takes pictures and talks to them for twenty minutes and this contains the responses. He chats to the young, old, business people, homeless and punks etc the city is so diverse and it makes you aware that everyone has a story to tell and many with heart breaks or triumphs. If you like to "'People Watch" ( My 10 yr old says it like its an established hobby!?) you will love this!!?X

Excited to get this today. I love Neil Gaiman's imagination and how it comes across in his writing so the image on the cover is just perfect!. I'm looking forward to reading his thoughts in this non fiction book.

JacqMac I love how his mind works. I'm looking forward to reading this one, too. 8y

I will be rating this 4 stars on Goodreads. A good insight in to War and the effects it had on food supplies. This diary documents the change in families, emotions and lifestyles of a community through this difficult time. A very interesting read.

After reading fab reviews for this book I finally got around to reading it & it did not disappoint!.The synopsis intrigued me straightaway mentioning the hidden tunnels of underground London & the main young girl character living in them, escaping due to horrific sinister crimes she's guilty of!.

My Book club pick. A bitter sweet story for me. If you have lost somebody close to you ( as I have) you could find it emotional, I was reading on Kindle & teary by 3% in!🙄😢.But the great characterisation left me wanting to see all their stories & there are some fab twists along the way! 4.5 stars!

My pick up from the library today of Wartime books. Every now and then I have a genre swap!.

jpmcwisemorgan Genre swaps are good! They keep things interesting. I tend to go off on long ones and then look up and realize my TBR is the same size so I promise myself that I'll read something from it, but I don't. The cycle repeats! 8y
Furny Lol!😂 I know exactly what you mean. I tend to do binges of Contemporary Literature, Crime/ Psychological Thrillers, Light Fantasty/ Surrealism & War Fiction in rotation but my pile increases as I hear of new books in those genres I fancy!😘🙄😂xx 8y
