The Lorax | Dr. Seuss
Pickpick

The Lorax should be mandatory first reading material. The lessons about the environment, greed, jealousy, conservation, appreciation are almost unrivaled in children‘s books. The Animated Movie brings the book to life. Proof that truth, like love can be found in any place you choose to look for it(love or truth). Supposedly Dr. Seuss had relationship issues. i don‘t care, it(personal issues) does not change the value of the lessons in his books.

I read this book during some research on factory farming. Mr. Eric did a wonderful job showing view points from different parts of the food supply chain. He included different experiences from illegal immigrants, slaughterhouse workers, Distribution, & Environmentalists. We as society do not respect our conveniences nor the sacrifices of the plants and animals which facilitate life in general. Thank you to all whom have sacrificed. God is love.

Uncle Toms Cabin | Harriet Beecher Stowe

Pickpick

“Uncle Tom” is a disparaging term that blacks call each other when they think another black person is a sellout. Basically think of Samuel Jackson in “Django Unchained”. Having heard that term on TV, at a young age I decided to read the source material. Uncle Tom in the book is a pitiful character. Raised as a slave he dotes and is loyal to his owners. Tom loving cares for people who eventually discard him without hesitation, which he disregards.

Flowers in the Attic | V C Andrews
Pickpick

VC Andrews is an author that really shows the ugly side of family. From incest to moleststation, love children, inappropriate interactions between adults and children, secrets, lies, and the depravity money causes. For those who have watched the movie and have not read the book you are seriously missing out. The movie shows not enough character background. Also Flowers is just one book in a series. WARNING, if you get hooked there‘s a lot to read.

Reading the comments, i am skeptical if any of the commentators actually read the complete book. What is the point of speeding through school if you didn‘t learn anything of use? And taking the test together is pointless unless we all are going to crash together or soar together. Love, G0d. Because God is Love.

Jaws | Peter Benchley
Pickpick

This book is not just about some killer shark. Just like any book there is a protagonist and an antagonist. I would dare to say the protagonist is the people, their safety, well+being, and ability to provide for their family or community even. And the antagonist is the shark, which literally threatens the islanders way of existence. But a Shark will cause a more visceral reaction than any power figure that carries out this same culling day to day.

Jaws | Peter Benchley

Favorite book and Movie. Created the summer blockbuster. Spielberg before ET or Close Encounters.
