I enjoyed this immensely! Pretty straight-forward guessing without any big plot twist to an avid mystery reader, but had a great balance of mystique and paranormal! Good for a long-weekend read without too much brain power.

Quick read. Fear Street makes best for digestible but quirky beach reads, in my personal opinion!

I was definitely the kid obsessed with Greek Mythology in grade school! This was fine! Easy read! Had some good callbacks I didn‘t expect!

Ughhhh this took me forever to get through and truly, it wasn‘t my favorite. Can‘t put my finger on it, but I find it highly unlikely that friends still only correspond via email and that a woman who is fucked up needs to find an equally broken person to be happy and whole. Maybe that‘s not the point? Who knows!

This was the perfect holiday quick read! Sure there‘s some logic missing and some unexplained plot points // resolutions but it was hella cute and easy to devour! Plus some sexy scenes! And Christmas!

Started as a vacation read, technically finished as a COVIDmas isolation station read.
Introspective and lovely, can‘t wait to read her newest book!

Not my favorite, but I've been told to try another Ottessa Moshfegh piece before making any final judgments. I'm not built to enjoy an unreliable narrator or an open-ended ending!!!
A quick read, nonetheless.

I‘ve been stumbling into a horror // slasher kick and truly, I‘m a sucker for an epic Final Girl storyline. This is very good and inspired by all the movies I love! Read it!

2021 // 7: “In fact, she was both my first and second words: Umma, then Mom. I called to her in two languages. Even then I must have known that no one would ever love me as much as she would.”

Between crying and having sudden food cravings, this books is personal and simply lovely. A true honor to read and reflect on family, tradition, belonging, and moving forward.

2021 // 6: “Don‘t forget to take the wreckage of your presence.”

@caseyrosewilson has been my comedy icon since moving to New York in 2015. Taking a dive into these essays gave me joy and comfort with a healthy dose of self-actualization on some things. Happy Endings has also been my go-to show any time I‘m “going through it”, so it‘s only fitting that this book would have a same effect. Thank you. Ahmazing!

I was initially unsure if I‘d get into this, but it was the scenes describing the main character‘s job as a waitress that got me. Never have I read something that depicted that so clearly. To almost be in your early thirties with debt, difficultly balancing the real world and inspiration to write, relationships, and feeling like the world is going to engulf you whole, let‘s just say there‘s something everyone can relate to. I really enjoyed it!

A girl who falls in love with a “ghost”? What could possibly go wrong? Definitely for fans of The Pisces, The Regrets is an inverse of a love story with hints of science fiction, indulgences, self-discovery from our own hauntings, and of course, ghost sex! I liked it!

Ahhhh okay this took me a minute to get into but I actually found it quite delightful toward the end. Zany with a twist of meet cute from the perspective of a smart refrigerator and its team of everyday smart home appliances. Who would have ever thought? I enjoyed it!

I'm a little late to the party, but here we (finally) are. Some of these essays forced me to look at things from a different perspective than my typical own, and for that, I'm always grateful. Relatable (to an extent), and smartly written, Tolentino gives a fuck about what she writes about; thoroughly explored, acknowledged, and summed up that nothing is ever perfect...

A wonderful journey and fresh vision for a concept we‘re no stranger to. A handful of excellent plot twists to the point I found myself sobbing at the end. Brilliant!
