Flowers for Algernon | Daniel Keyes
Pickpick

This is an emotional book about Charlie Gordon. Charlie has an extremely low IQ. He gets a treatment that increases his intelligence but this raises the question if being smart will make him happy. Will definitely recommend to anyone who wants a good read.

Martin the Warrior | Brian Jacques
Pickpick

Martin the Warrior is a part of the Redwall series. The series includes many stories where woodland creatures defend their homes against tyrannical rats or stoats. The book opens with Martin enslaved to Badrang the Tyrant who stole the sword of Martin‘s father. Martin escapes and meets Rose of Noonvale and her friend Grumm and her brother Brome. Together they might free the slaves.

Pickpick

This book is very good. I appreciate the tone of the narrator(who happens to be death). This might sound strange but the book is set during WW2 and even in Nazi Germany. It follows a young girl, Liesil who‘s brother dies on the way for them to be adopted by the Hubermanns. This book is sad but beautiful and definitely worth a read.
