Because no biography is complete without addressing personal style...💜💜💜
Beautiful pain. The yellow is gold dust that a worker was carrying on the bus when the accident happened. The graphic novel depicts these details of a story so vividly...💜💜💜
True statement. I couldn‘t have said it better. I love how by exploring literature we explore ourselves. I love the graphic novel format. This is my first one! 💜💜💜
I was tiring of this book and wondering why I‘m still reading it when I came across this BEAUTIFUL description of my latest obsession- Frida Khalo...onward in faith! 💜💜💜
Loving Litsy right now! This is too much for FB...also loving Zora Neale Hurston‘s language- beautiful passages everywhere, profound concepts related poetically throughout. I‘m having to re-read many paragraphs to grasp the depth of the ideas related. It‘s a slow read, but well worth the effort so far. Just finished chapter 4. 💜💜💜
5 stars for this one! Here‘s a beautiful example of the prose in this gem. Finished it in 2 Days ( 4 bus rides)...and the subject matter- the things passed down that keep us sick. Where to begin? How could something so short, so sparse be so moving? Words are indeed powerful and literature is life-changing! 💜💜💜
“BEEF gets passed down like name-brand T-shirts around here. Always too big. Never ironed out.” This book is genius. A super- fast pace with prose that reads like a poem. Just one or two sentences- sometimes one or two words on a page. The subject matter is profound . I heard the author said he wanted to make this book accessible to the people about whom it is written- those young T.H.U.G.s who might be unlikely to pick up a tome. Well done.
