Carrie Fisher‘s reflection on unreturned love resounds like truth in my guts. Loving catching up with her.

This book had me in all sorts of chuckles! Here in an aside to the reader the author describes the difficulties of distinguishing characters in Russian literature due to the common use of certain names, then tells you not to bother with this particular one. 😄
Overall a delightful read of Russian historical fiction

The ultimate misstep in puppyhood. And he chose, of course, two great ones that I re-read.
One of my favorite books last year, especially if read as a series of historically connected vignettes. Coming from lumber country, I found the earliest stories fascinating and the journey to New Zealand unexpected. A long, detailed, often tragic read! #thisistheend
Library books help my budget and shelf space. This was a book club read, with short stories connecting sporadically through characters and relationships, and a thematic string of magic realism running throughout. We had mixed reviews, but the imaginative stories stick in your head! #ORANGEYOUGLAD
