This book was a slight disappointment. I was working on a review in my head during the first 200 pages that went "There is a circus at night... Two magicians are supposed to battle but nothing happens...". But it does pick up a bit. Still not nearly as wonderful as it should have been.

I get that it's beautifully written but if that's what I wanted I'd be reading a book of poetry.

Fill a bag for $20 sale definitely helped add to my tbr pile!

5 stars!!! There is so much going on in this book! And so much country hopping! And I love Claire and Jamie. They really are the perfect couple. Can't wait to see what happens next.
