A cute retelling of “The Taming of the Shrew” but too short to ever really get going. I enjoyed the characters but it felt like I barely got to know any of them. Still, worth a read if you are a fan of the author or Shakespeare.

Amazing book. Having never been all that interested in the Tudor period, I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed this. Going to take a small break to read something lighter and then jump into Bring Up the Bodies.

About halfway through and starting to think this Henry fellow might be up to something. 🤔

Not Hemingway‘s best novel but worth reading. It comes across to me as a bit of a Hemingway and Raymond Chandler mash-up stylistically. While most of the story still doesn‘t work for me there are passages in it that remind you what a brilliant writer Hemingway was. It also helps that it is a quick read at under two-hundred pages. Two paws up.

A very well written, emotionally devastating novel. Impossible to finish with dry eyes. Four paws up.
