I‘ve mislaid my in progress book so when it didn‘t turn up immediately, I grabbed this to start. And now the furs have settled in so there‘s no switching up books.

#12Booksof2023 July saw me finally pulling this off my shelves, and it both totally lives up to its hype, and falls into one of my favorite niche genres, groups of artists riffing off of and inspiring one another. @Andrew65
Delightful. Short. A look at Hemmingway‘s life in Paris 1921-26, driven to write while still happily married and still unknown. Oh, there are many reasons to visit the Louve, but the reason given here was a new one for me. ☺️
Sometimes reading is a battle, especially on cold days. This short book, by the way, is absolutely delightful. It‘s really short. I‘m almost done.
Recommended by a colleague. I forgot how much i loved reading Hemingway in high school. Love his succinct writing style. Paris in the 20‘s sounded like the place to be.
August's #TitlesandTunes took some puzzling, but then I remembered a very vivid description of eating oysters from Hemingway and thought it would be a wonderful month to revisit A Moveable Feast. And what could pair better with Hemingway's Paris than a song by Cole Porter? https://open.spotify.com/track/1unklhCEg2sOraisyjedC5?si=9c7780c4bb214e2a

Interesting memoir by Ernest Hemingway‘s grandson, John. So much heartache and struggles. So wish things could have been different for them all.
I just love reading about this literary set, and McLain‘s take on them is approachable but well written. This has been on my shelf for years, was recommended by tons of people, and was even a #Roll100 pick I didn‘t get to a few months back, so I‘m glad it was this month‘s #bookspin so I finally found that push to read it! I switched back and forth between print and audio and found the print way more compelling and absorbing. @TheAromaofBooks
Though I often looked for one, I finally had to admit that there could be no cure for Paris. #FirstLineFridays @ShyBookOwl
