Unabridged Audiobook (10/10):
I never thought that these would keep getting better and better, yet Rick Riordan never fails to blow me away. There‘s a lot of heart shown throughout this story, especially with Percy and Annabeth, but the best friendship we see fleshed out in my eyes is that of Jason and Nico. Two of the most unlikely friends, but they come closer together and showcase just how important it can be to have one person in your corner.

Unabridged Audiobook (10/10):
Of all the stories I‘ve read so far in Rick Riordan‘s Camp Half-Blood Chronicles, this is truly one of my favorites. The stakes are so incredibly high, the lore is expansive yet easily understood, and there‘s a large cast of characters who are all easy to love and appreciate. The final chapters of this one genuinely gave me goosebumps and had me on the edge of my seat. I can‘t wait to see where things go next!

Unabridged Audiobook (10/10):
Much like the other novels set in the Camp Half-Blood Chronicles, Rick Riordan captures a sense of genuine respect for the characters fans have come to love, traditional mythology, and the truest sense of moral fortitude. Bringing Percy Jackson back in this story is so brilliant and I love how we get to see snippets of his Greek life shine through his time with the Romans.

Can‘t wait to see where the story goes next!

Unabridged Audiobook (9/10):
The fact that this book starts a new era within the Camp Half-Blood Chronicles so incredibly well is a testament to the brilliance behind Rick Riordan. He manages to craft a story that‘s connected to Percy Jackson, incorporating Roman mythology into the Greek we‘ve come to know, and establishing new characters to love.

Unabridged Audiobook (10/10):
Genuinely one of the greatest conclusions to a five book story I‘ve ever seen. It‘s been a very long time since I first read these Percy Jackson books, but to know that they still (and will continue to) stand the test of time makes me so incredibly happy.

On its own, this story is so heartfelt in the messages it presents, the sacrifices we witness, and even the betrayals showcased throughout.

Unabridged Audiobook (7/10):
Although I‘ve found this to be the weakest of the Percy Jackson books so far, I feel it does an incredible job as the penultimate story to the original five book series of the franchise. Some brilliant moments with Percy, Grover, and Tyson that really made me happy as those three are just too precious for this world. Next up, The Last Olympian!

Another wonderful adventure in the Camp Half-Blood Chronicles! I truly forgot about so much of this series, so I‘m so glad to be revisiting it after so many years (and in such a short time)! Excited to see Percy, Grover, and Annabeth come face to face with Pan!

Unabridged Audiobook (8/10):
Not quite as engaging as the first story set in the Camp Half-Blood Chronicles, but certainly a touching entry that shows an emphasis on chosen families, particularly with Percy and Tyson: the sons of Poseidon.

So glad that I‘ve decided to return to these stories because they‘re so much fun and capture some of the most relatable feelings and moments of adolescence!

Unabridged Audiobook (10/10):
It has been at least 10 years since I first read this story, and man does it still hold through the rest of time. Rick Riordan manages to craft a world that is so rich, vibrant, and full of intellect; something that I feel is rarely done so elegantly with mythology. The story is heartfelt, relatable, touching, and constantly suspenseful.

Ugly Love: A Novel | Colleen Hoover

Unabridged Audiobook (7/10):
My third novel from Colleen Hoover, and as always, I find myself unable to stop listening. Seriously some of the most engaging writing, no matter the level of the content. As always, there‘s a lot of sex talk, but this love story isn‘t hindered (or furthered?) by the addition of any weird plot elements. These are just ordinary people, being humans.

Unabridged Audiobook (10/10):
I seriously loved this one! Probably one of my favorite Legends novels throughout Star Wars that I‘ve read so far. Sam Witwer‘s narration adds a level of quality that is so incredible; not only does he embody Maul well, but also Kenobi, Palpatine, and other notable characters from the Star Wars franchise. Definitely a one-off story, so don‘t hesitate to give this one a chance!

Bailedbailed

It‘s not often that I bail on a book, but I simply couldn‘t get into this one. I was 40% through the audiobook and had zero motivation to continue. The story was boring, the narration sucked, and the constant changing of using names vs nicknames made it way too hard to follow. Quite frankly, I wouldn‘t recommend this novel or it‘s author.

I‘m really enjoying Moro as a villain here! Most often, we see enemies come around that are simply stronger than Goku and Vegeta, but in this instance, he can also drain them of their powers. It‘s also interesting to see the parallels between Moro and Frieza, but also how Buu plays into the story once again.

What a perfect ending to the first Tournament of Power! Not only did Goku and Vegeta get to use their full strength, but Frieza and the other 11 universes were brought back to life as a result of Android 17 being the last one standing! After all of that, now Goku, Vegeta, and Buu have been tasked with defeating an evil, magic-wielding creature named Moro by the Galactic Patrol!

The Tournament of Power is nearly finished, Master Roshi has taught Goku one final lesson, and Goku has achieved Ultra Instinct. Jiren is the final warrior standing against the fighters of Universe 7 (Goku, Vegeta, and Frieza), so I guess it‘s time to see how the final four goes!

Such an awesome start to the first Tournament of Power! I‘ve really enjoyed seeing how not only members from the same universe work together, but also those from different universes (like Universe 6‘s Frost/Hit and Universe 7‘s Frieza/Goku). It‘s surprising who‘s been knocked out of the competition already for Universe 7, especially Piccolo! Time to see how the tournament ends and what the Lords of Everything decide to do!

This was an enjoyable volume despite it simply being Beerus and Belmod gathering their 10 warriors for the first Tournament of Power from their respective universes (7 and 11). I‘m excited to see the tournament come to pass and some warriors fight who haven‘t in quite some time!

There‘s just something about Vegeta being a decent person that hits differently. He was ready to sacrifice his life to save Trunks and Mai, he swallowed his immense Saiyan pride and let Goku defeat Zamas, and when they returned he held Bulma tightly as she cried in his arms. Vegeta is growing on me more and more and I can‘t wait to see him meet his second child!

9/10:
Focusing on the fight against Zamas was a smart move, as this volume adds a lot of lore to the Saiyans and practices of fusion that don‘t feel overly complicated. It‘s so interesting to see Vegeta turn towards Goku as a brother in combat and even risking his own life for Goku‘s sake. Excited to see how this conflict ends!

6/10:
The story itself being told throughout this volume is solid, but it‘s getting REALLY complicated. We‘ve got about 7 parallel timelines, 12 universes, and beings who can travel between any of these things. I appreciate the way everything is named and numbered, but I hope this gets easier to comprehend.

Aside from that, I love watching Vegeta go absolutely ballistic!

I‘ve gotta say, I really enjoyed the end of the first Universes tournament! Seeing Frost and Hit go toe to toe with Piccolo, Goku, and Vegeta was a fun time, but what I appreciated most was Vegeta wanting to help the Saiyan from the other universe. Very neat to see his good side showing more and more.

Glad to see future Trunks return and how they‘re explaining time travel and manipulation in the Dragon Ball universe!

This is a neat little one-shot story in the Dragon Ball universe that showcases an aspect of the larger galaxy previously unseen. Jaco is a very unique character who seems to have a heart similar to that of Piccolo. I also have to say that Tights really reminds me of her sister Bulma!

Such an awesome end to the Dragon Ball Z saga of the franchise! I love how the final battle to save the Earth came down to Goku and Vegeta, two Saiyans who have pushed each other to be stronger over the years. Everything comes back in this single volume and does so much to tie up the stories of Dragon Ball and it‘s characters. This was the original end of the franchise, but I‘m excited to start the Dragon Ball Super saga next!

This was seriously awesome! So many reveals on how to increase power, but Buu somehow still surpasses each power-up the good guys have. Buu absorbed Gotenks, Piccolo, and now Gohan too. Will Goku, Hercule, Tien, Dende, and Vegeta be enough to defeat the djinn?

“You are truly remarkable. Do you know that?” - Piccolo to Goku

Watching Piccolo train Goten and Trunks in the ways of fusion was super cool and I love the final product we see in Gotenks.

I also love how much purity we see in Buu as it‘s drawn out by Hercule. The fact that he was created my monsters truly shaped what he had become, not what he wanted to be.

Vegeta. I can‘t believe that after all of this time, he chose protecting those he loves over his own life. He finally fought for something meaningful and died in the process. Genuinely one of my favorites in all of Dragon Ball so far. There‘s so much emotion and power unleashed as a result of those emotions that I can‘t help but to feel them alongside the characters.

The death of Goku and Gohan reaching his full potential was awesome, but I particularly like how Gohan held strong no matter what. Not only did he choose to comfort his mother, but he knows he can reach Piccolo whenever he needs a father figure.

There‘s something incredible about the characters in this universe wanting to reach their highest potential, so much so that they want their enemies to do so too. Another fine volume for Dragon Ball here, but nothing incredibly interesting. Sure, Cell is a formidable foe and Androids 16, 17, and 18 are powerful, but that‘s kind of it. Piccolo was easily beaten again and everyone is waiting on the Saiyans who are training (Vegeta, Trunks, Goku, and Gohan).

Love seeing the gang fight, and this volume focuses on that intensely. The battle against Freeza has begun, Piccolo has been resurrected and brought to Namek to join the battle, Goku is almost fully healed to do the same, Gohan dealt some serious blows, and Vegeta is biding his time to join Gohan in the fight.

All of this happening because of one creature: Frieza. That just shows how powerful he truly is!

It just feels like it‘s one issue after another on planet Namek so far. The Dragon Balls are together, yet they cannot summon Shenlong, the Ginyu Force have stupid tricks up their sleeves, Frieza is torturing different people over and over. I just need the plot to advance a little bit faster now.

The Ginyu Force may be five formidable warriors, but their theatrics seriously diminish the seriousness to which they should be taken.
