The Handmaid's Tale | Margaret Atwood
Pickpick

I'm in the middle of this book so it might be unfair to rate it so highly, but it's clear this is a important piece for our world today. A must read for every woman! It's soooo important to investigate and consider what the loss of personal freedom could really mean.

I only recently discovered Neil Gaiman's work. In fact this was the first book of his I have read. His writing is as enchanting and magical as reviewers all report. I loved this tale of three generations of women who play at being immortal at the 'End of the Lane'. The little boy who represents childhood innocence leads the reader down the lane and into the magical world that is our forgotten youth. Loved it! On to more Neil Gaiman!

MDDorn So loved this tale of the old Gods and the new Gods at war. Beautiful and impactful storytelling technique to shake up our worldview. (edited) 7y
