I seem to only be able to digest this book at night. It's like taking a moonlit walk through France, accompanied by Perdue's melancholy, Max's angst, and Cuneo's wonderment. During these strolls, gems like this one halt me in my tracks, demanding attention.
"A bookseller never forgets that books are very recent means of expression in the broad sweep of history, capable of changing the world and toppling tyrants." That last bit in particular resonated with me.
Ready to plunge into another country before bed.
