Nonfiction that reads like a thriller! Mount St. Helens is practically in my backyard and I've been obsessed with it since I was old enough to understand what a volcano was. I've been telling everyone about this book; I learned so much, and it was an excellent read!

Delicious attention to detail and meticulously realistic dialogue make this a delight to read. Plus, it's utterly transporting, with characters who you root for and who break your heart.

When people ask what my favorite book is, this is my answer (yes, I cheat by listing an omnibus!). Fascinating magic, strong characters, pure laugh-out-loud and sob-your-heart-out moments.

A must-read for any fan of Fantasy! Fascinating, diverse characters, vivid world-building, and a plot that never ceases to surprise.
