Essex Serpent | Sarah Perry
Pickpick

Like many people I absolutely loved this. Sarah Perry 's writing style is wonderful, it was so exquisitely written. I couldn't put it down. In fact, *whispers* I downloaded the Kindle version so I could read it on my computer in between jobs at work! After finishing I immediately went and bought After Me Comes the Flood.

Eileen: A Novel | Ottessa Moshfegh
Mehso-so

There was something quite compelling about this but ultimately I felt it didn't quite match my expectations from what I'd read about this. The blurb is certainly rather misleading and there were elements that were quite under developed. Nonetheless it was an interesting read and I would be interested in reading more of Ottessa Moshfegh's work.

Picked up The Establishment by Owen Jones in my #bookhaul today as well as a beautiful copy of Gentlemen of the Road by Michael Chabon and some murder and mayhem from Mark Billingham and Val McDermid.
