Even though he's technically a children's author, I'm a big fan of Riordan and his writing. He's engaging, witty and well researched. The Hidden Oracle was by no means his best work but it was a pleasant diversion.

The first in Piers Anthony's multi decade Xanth series; this book was my first introduction into fantasy books when I was a teenager and I loved revisiting it!
