Reading this has been like having a tooth pulled. Slowly. It's rated highly on Goodreads and I think it would typically be something I would enjoy. However, I'm finding it reallyyyyy difficult to finish. Maybe because the language is much more modern than I can believe they would be speaking for the time period-- but if it was written in older English I would be unimpressed and annoyed too. Maybe I just can't be happy right now!
