I really appreciated this book throughout. I love that Acevedo decided to shed light on some of the not so glamorous aspects of being a teenager. To my knowledge, there aren‘t many YA titles that focus on teen pregnancy in way that depicts positive feelings towards parenthood. While Emoni definitely experienced hardships in terms of being a single mother, she never expressed regret which was refreshing.
