Not a health food guide. Not a diet book. Rather, an in-depth investigative report into the origins and current state of the processed food business, covering everything from the origins and intrigues of the Coke/Pepsi rivalry to the acquisition of Kraft by tobacco empire Philip Morris and how they applied lessons learned from tobacco to boost food sales. Whether you love Froot Loops or worship Michael Pollan, this should be a must-read for all.

If you've ever wanted to know what a mole (the unit of measurement) of moles (the burrowing animal) would look like, or whether you could create a jet pack by firing enough downward-facing machine guns, then look no further! This book contains all the answers you seek, and more!

Pegasus | Robin McKinley

I generally love McKinley's writing and enjoyed this book too, but BE WARNED, first of an intended trilogy, big cliffhanger ending, and no sequel in sight yet after 6 years. Probably best to wait till they're all published; read one of her wonderful stand-alone books instead.

This book is amazing. Gripping and eye opening, it reads like a political espionage thriller but is the true account of the kidnapping of South Korea's most famous actress and film director by North Korea dictator and cinema fanatic Kim Jong-Il. Crazy, gripping, sad, fascinating, highly recommended.

The true story of map dealer turned map thief Edward Forbes Smiley, intertwined with lots of interesting detail about the world of map collecting and how history has shaped maps, as well as the reverse. A little dry at times - it IS non-fiction - but a very interesting subject.
