Breakfast At Tiffany's | Truman Capote

“Never love a wild thing... [t]he more you do, the stronger they get. Until they're strong enough to run into the woods. Or fly into a tree. Then a taller tree. Then the sky. That's how you'll end up, Mr. Bell. If you let yourself love a wild thing. You'll end up looking at the sky." — Breakfast at Tiffany‘s, by Truman Capote

Pickpick

THOUGHTS | I found this to be a charming, bittersweet read; being quite a fan of Truman Capote‘s writing style (though the only other work of his I‘ve read is the captivating In Cold Blood), I enjoyed diving once more into his lush words and plot lines. The characters are finely drawn, though still with an air of ambiguity, and the tense atmospheres created are palpable. Some touches of racism given the times; nevertheless an enjoyable book. | 4/5
