P89. 90. People were buying milk, or filling their cars with petrol, or even posting letters. And what no one else knew was the appalling weight of the thing they were carrying inside. The inhuman effort it took sometimes to be normal, and a part of things that appeared both easy and everyday. The loneliness of that.

Cullen Baker, is a young cowboy, who returns to his late parents' dilapidated farm to start life anew. Looming over him are old enemies, rival neighbours and post-Civil War Reconstructionists. A young lady has also caught his eye.
The action scenes are frenetic with the burgeoning romance delicately handled. Characters are well written and believable with women just as head strong and gutsy. For my first Western, highly recommend. Yee-ha!
