This book was so fantastic and I FLEW through it. This is my favorite kind of YA novel...the author‘s style, the growth of the main character, excellent best friend character, parent redemption, and a setting I get to learn about. Highly recommend for a YA summer read. Or spring read. Or like whenever. I‘ve already started passing it around to my friends.

I‘ve been listening to this audiobook for about a month. Finally finished it today! I don‘t love non fiction but I read everything this author puts out. He makes non fiction read like fiction, and I‘m a big fan. This story was one I hadn‘t heard before, so I was able to learn a lot! I would recommend this one for history fans and non fiction haters alike!

Working on book 3 in the “Snow Like Ashes” trilogy. Book 1 was really strong. Book 2 didn‘t really get interesting until the last third. Book 3....I‘m struggling to get in to. Hopefully it‘ll get moving soon!
