My biggest problem with this book is that, aside from the strong beginning, Mercy is cheated out of saving herself. Once again, it's her friends and loved ones coming in at the right moment to save her. Coincidences abound. The middle really dragged but the end had a good twist. I was so let down. Briggs can do better.

I'm down with a cold and, since I spent yesterday playing Dragon Age: Origins on the PC, I thought I would give this book a second try. Has anyone else read it? What do you think of it?

There are way too many characters for this size of a book. I feel like she knows half the town and only three of them have anything to do with the plot.
