I like a little sluttiness in my books and I‘m a fan of Anne Rice, so I assumed I would like this series. I was wrong. This is just pure trash. The story is terrible. There is just sex to have sex. I quit halfway through. Now I have to hide the series so my kids don‘t find it.

I can‘t believe that I had never heard of Meg Gardiner prior to the “Unsub” series. This first novel that follows Jo Beckett is fantastic, although the story is a bit far-fetched. If you love murder mysteries, you‘ll love this.

I loved the second book in the “Unsub” series. I was on the edge of my seat and blew through this one in less than two days.

I‘m normally not a reader of romance novels but as a fan of history, I decided to check this out. I have never seen the TV show either. I actually ended up really enjoying it and the scenes between Claire and Jamie are rather steamy! 😘😘

As a fan of the show on SyFy, I thought for sure I‘d love the series, but it‘s just “so-so.” It‘s different enough from the TV show to keep it interesting, but I found it kind of difficult to get through at some points.

John Green disappoints with “Turtles All the Way Down.” It just doesn‘t stack up to his other books.

This book was assigned to me by my professor for a Children‘s Literature class. Written in a way, similar to “The Diary of a Wimpy Kid” series, it‘s filled with cute illustrations and Alexis‘s dry humor helps tell the story of a poor, Indian kid.

“[...] and then there was only a roaring in the air around her, a new pain where once there wasn‘t pain, a hollowness where only minutes before, she had been whole.”

This book was an assignment for my Children‘s Lit class. Normally I‘m not a fan of poetry but I LOVED this book.

I‘ve seen numerous documentaries on 9/11 but most of the stories are told from people outside the towers. Reading about the bravery and sacrifice within is a whole different ballgame. What‘s even more upsetting is realizing how unprepared both the Police and Firemen of New York were and how naive everyone was, thinking the Twin Towers were indestructible. I highly recommend this book. There are parts which some may find disturbing, however.
