On this tvtime app I have, someone actually commented that reading the outlander books were "cheating" lmao I find this very amusing. I feel like watching the show is cheating??

After a long hiatus in pattern releases, I've done a couple more Wrapped in Jamie blanket squares. Here's the Scottish Cross one. #litsycrafters
Who got a chance to watch the show?! They did a fantastic job! Poor Marsali.. I want to tan Fergus‘s hide! 😡 I‘m not sure how I feel about Claire self medicating at the end, doesn‘t seem very in character. But I think the Christie‘s were casted perfectly. What did y‘all think about it?!?
It‘s been a while since I read this. I‘d forgotten how much happens in this first book. So much. I like the world of outlander, the.characters, the story.
Loved this! As someone who entered the Outlander world through the show first (and watched the series several times 😬), I risked not liking the book as much because I don‘t like changing plots or characters I already have in my mind. Not a problem with this! I welcomed every difference, and the writing was excellent - beautifully descriptive but not so complex as to slow it down. Can‘t wait to read the next one!
#JANUARY2022 recap has me firmly planted in a re-read of Outlander, having recently binged the Netflix Series. And this time so far this reads differently. And has actually given me an interesting evaluation of myself, as I have changed and adapted through the years… I even understand more the 🔺fate of Claire‘s life. And the pressure. #outlander continues. #historialfiction #romance #timetravel 📚❤️
3.5 stars. Good historical fiction about a woman who time travels to 1743 Scotland. I enjoyed the historical details about clothes, weapons, laundry, laws, etc. Written 30 years ago, and some of the man/woman dynamics and choices by Claire, the protagonist, are a little hard to swallow, but still an engaging love story. Contains torture but not as much as, say, that GOT show.

1. I‘m into genealogy so I‘d like to go back in time to meet my ancestors, starting with my grandmother who died when Mom @Doll8455 was young. She was 100% Swiss, brilliant, spoke 5 languages. I‘d like to meet Mom‘s brother, Fox, who died in a tragic accident a few years later. And I‘d love to meet the loads of notable ancestors. Then I‘d jump forward to see if I have any great great grandkids!

I really enjoyed this book. It has romance, Scotish history and family lineages, drama, adventure and a little bit of fantasy. Really, it has everything a reader would want in a book. Such a fast-paced book, and I'm looking forward to reading the rest of the series.
Lynn This was a delightful surprise! You are always so thoughtful ❤️❤️❤️❤️thank you so much 😘😘😘
Well, I gave up! If I hadn't watched the show 5 times...I probably could've finished it. So, I need to know where to start reading. I've watched 5 seasons so I guess book 6???
After binge-watching the series on Netflix, I realized that a re-read of this series would be a good way to kick off 2022. My copy is an odd-ball, but I love it. Wherever I found it, it got me into this world. The rest are waiting to be savored as I progress. #bookworm #reread #outlander #romance #timetravel #epicstorytelling 🥰❤️📚
This is really hard to say! I read mostly fantasy so if someone isn't interested in that I'm kind of at a loss, but here are some I know I tell people to read.

My #WeekendReading plans, while waiting for the snow to melt so I can run some errands tomorrow. I didn‘t go to bed until 1 am this morning, wanting to get to the halfway point!

We got a good ol‘ snowstorm today, so I‘ve settled in with a warm (decaf) coffee, a fuzzy blanket, and the first book in my #Outlander2022 read. ☕️
A friend of mine gave me books 2-5 last year, so my goal is to read one a month in 2022 to catch up on the series. I‘m only to chapter 3 and I‘m already obsessed with Gabaldon‘s writing. 🥰
#thoughtfulthursday thanks for the tag @DarkMina
✨Mine is 50 books.

✨I am very much enjoying it even though I've watched the show 5 times all the way thru.
@Librarybelle @LokiDokey wanna play???? @MoonWitch94
Reread. Still as good as the first read through.
Well that's easy, mine would be Jamie Fraser ❤️
Who would you pick? 😆

I'm sharing mine now, because I'm working all day tomorrow.

I love the Outlander show so much. I can't wait to read the book series as part of my reading challenge for 2022 📚

Happy Christmas Eve! Also....I got married today! 😁❤ During the ceremony we were holding books that we both love! 💕📚💕
And with these 850 pages I finished this doorstop, and the advanced prompts for #pop21 …. Just 2 to go on the main challenge…
It was fine, not really my cup of tea, and don‘t quite understand the obsession with this series, but a solid 3🌟…. Just glad I managed a #chunkster

I've been a fan of Diana Gabaldon's Outlander series for many years. I own almost all of the books have read to book 7 so far but these are huge books with LOADS of details so I'm listening to the eAudiobooks. I've posted my reviews of Outlander and Dragonfly in Amber on my blog today.

QOTD: Are you an Outlander fan? TV series or book series? Or both?
"Outlander" is extremely well written and the author tells her story well. However, there were parts of the story that I felt unneeded and while I understand some of the commentary was to show the times, I felt Gabaldon was toeing a line I did not care for.
I will not buy this at the grocery store… I will not buy this at the grocery store… #tempted #outlander
Okay, so me over here, wanting to participate but feeling like a lousy Canadian as I don‘t own a single piece of plaid 😪
I know it‘s a stretch but here‘s a book that probably involves plaid at some point. Purchased eons ago based on hype, not yet read as I realized it‘s a romantic historical…. Not my bag lol. On an related note, if anyone wants a pristine copy of Outlander, hit me up!

1. Sometimes, but usually can‘t guess all the twists
2. Outlander, both book and 📺 series!
3. I do seem drawn to the found family trope, and anti-hero tropes. I hate the love triangle trope and avoid it as much as possible!
4. I‘m grateful for all the cuddles and time I get to spend with our older cat #Isabel. Her health has declined a lot this year, and I view every day with her as a gift.

PBS Great American Read finalist read (I try to read a few each year amongst the other reading challenges I participate in)
I did watch the first few episodes of the show so it was easier to get a grasp on how her husband and Jack Randall's appearances and her grasp on each competed with each other- a true mind game.
I read the series a couple of years ago and got sick of all the new names/characters. So I started talking notes and even before finishing the series, I knew I'd need to read it again. So here I am rereading and taking notes. I bought this box to use as a bibliography before goodreads existed. The first cards are books I still need to add to my READ list. The ABC section is all #Outlander notes. Does anyone else do this?
I finished reading Outlander and it's simply the best book I've ever read (⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️+) It's really big so you can actually see the characters relationship develop and the story is just beautiful
After I finished it like any normal #bibliophile I went searching for my #nextread that is #bookhunting and then I'm faced with the most common dilemma of deciding which book to read first so here I am #bookreccomendation needed ASAP
You're doing great.
Is it just me or does everyone likes to take pictures of their books just for the heck of it? My gallery contains more pictures of my books than of myself.

I'm currently reading Outlander btw. What did you guys (those who've read it) think of it?
You're doing great.

Re-reading. Even though I never read series or (adult) fantasy, I'm obsessed with this set. Ican't wait for the next #dianagabaldon installment.
It seems like Chaplin is also excited for the new Outlander book coming out this fall! 🤣😂📚💕 #catsoflitsy #littenkitten #chaplin
I found this hand-made soap at the farmer's market last weekend and squealed out loud because, well, OUTLANDER AMIRIGHT!? It smells AMAZING! But let's be honest, I bought it before I even smelled it because...OUTLANDER! 🤣😂
I tried to talk with the seller about being excited for the next book coming out this fall and she told me she doesn't read the books, she just watches the show. 😒😒😒
I'm thinking about starting a re-read! 🤞💕📚
I bought this book four years ago, and forgot about it. Now I‘m 125 pages in and quite surprised that I am enjoying it. I don‘t typically read romance novels but this one is growing on me 😊
The last time I read Outlander was in 2013/2014, and I‘ve been meaning to reread since then but never got around to it until the #outlanderreadalong was announced by Random House. I‘ve managed to find some of the peace I‘ve been looking for since I started retreading. I know what happens but it‘s still as exciting as the first time, and I‘ve managed to catch details that I didn‘t notice nor realize were foreshadowing events in the upcoming books.
