Tried some Venezuelan food for #foodandlit. Wood fired bbq steak, rice and fries, a shredded chicken arepa on the right and a golfeado which is a cinnamon roll with cheese. The soda was strawberry flavored. Everyone loved the food and the drink it‘s gone except for some of the golfeado (it is an acquired taste, not bad but different enough we have some leftover).

Texreader Mmmmm! Turns out I love Venezuelan food! This looks terrific but I can imagine that cinnamon roll would take some getting used to. 8h

Read this for book club. It did make me laugh out loud and was an easy read. But it was easy to put down and hard to pick up. Nina Hill was way better.

Oops! When I left the house I wasn‘t going to stop at the book store, but the event got canceled due to wind so we had to come up with a new thing to do so we went to the bookstore. All of these are blame it on Litsy.

#naturalitsy #fridatnightshare here is my pic for nonfiction because I am currently reading it on my spring road trip. It is about what happens when animals pester humans from wild animal attacks to eating garbage and more. It includes non predators and species from all over the world and plants and how different countries have different policies. @Chrissyreadit @jenniferw88 @AllDebooks @TheBookHippie

Korean for #foodandlit. The red bowl is bulgogi dolsot bibimbap- rice veggie beef and egg bowl-everyone liked it. The white bowl is galbitang rib soup, we loved it better than pho. The bulgogi and dumpling plate was a hit. The black rectangle bowl was japchae glass noodles stir fry, we liked it but not the texture. Everyone loved yogurt drinks. The small red sides of kimchi were too spicy for some. @Texreader @Catsandbooks

I noticed a pattern in my reading this year. Very patriotic apparently. White, red, blue. The spine of Tom Lake is more green but the cover is more blue. And Finaly is more pink but close enough. Definitely won‘t be able to keep the pattern going. Next book is black.

Stephanie Plum meets Dead to Me. A single mom who is an author is discussing her next book with her agent at Panera when she is mistaken for hitman discussing her job. Over the top ridiculousness ensues yet it might be plausible.

I really enjoyed this series and sad that this is the last one. I liked the mystery. The epilogue was very sweet and got me teary eyed. This series always gives me summer vibes and had to make cucumber dill sandwiches and mint sweet tea. I‘m going to try her famous lemon cake recipe included in the book.

Soft pick. This characters mind was very interesting to live in and was insightful. Through the book she becomes more self aware. It was more of a slice of life story focusing on a neurodivergent character. I liked the structure and representation matters. Glad I read it but the ending seemed rushed and one plot point wasn‘t properly wrapped up.

This book needs more hype. I loved the prose and the story. A great deal happens as the story follows a man‘s life from childhood to fatherhood, yet the precision of language makes it a compact and compelling. 5⭐️

Very fascinating! Really puts things in perspective and gives you “food for thought”. Did you know there is an Endangered food list? It has plants, animals, and methods of preparing food that are endangered of being extinct. I learned so much and there are some alarming patterns. The author travels the country to research and taste 9 of the 350+ American foods on the list. If you like history, food, travel read this book! TW: animal slaughter

TEArificbooks #naturalitsy @AllDebooks @Chrissyreadit @TheBookHippie @jenniferw88 I read the free sample of Utlra-processed people but my eyes glazed over so decided not to read it But as I was checking my indie store to see if they had that one, the home page said this author was doing a signing so I got this one. I highly recommend it to anyone in the group that didn‘t like ultra-processed people. I wish this book had pictures though. 3mo

Chrissyreadit i‘m a little nervous about animal slaughter but it sounds like a good book 3mo
TEArificbooks @Chrissyreadit the animal slaughter is only a couple sentences, I think she is respectfully about it, but doesn‘t shy away from the fact that it has to happen to eat the animals. It is only in the sheep and the salmon chapters. And both cases the animals are slaughtered in what is considered the most humane way possible for their species. Just skip those paragraphs. I have read grosser body horror but can see it being a trigger for vegans 3mo

Bit disappointed in the execution of a high fantasy. The writing felt middle grade but this is definitely for adults (there is spice). The world building could have been more detailed. The characters that are good were done dirty and it was dark. And there was a very open ending since this is book one in a new series. Could have been better and almost dnf‘d it several times. And it was too long and repetitive in some places.

My geography loving kid absolutely loved this book. Every night we read about a few different traditions from different countries. We noticed some patterns, like a lot of traditions steam from winter solstice pagan rituals to drive out darkness and evil spirits with bringing light (candles/fires/twinkle lights) and noise (caroling, parades, music) And it had lots of the word find words. #wintergames @Clwojick #teamevergreen

10,375 pts
