I'm starting this one today.

Currently Reading The Chalk Man by C.J. Tudor. It is reminding me so much of my own youth and the group of neighborhood kids I spent my days with. The mystery is still fleshing itself out and I have a few people I'm keeping an eye on. So far, solid read with heavy nostalgia factor for me.

It's best to go into this book completely blind. I absolutely adored the writing, the way the author built the characters, and how as a reader I made assumptions I was completely wrong about. HIGHLY recommend.

This book touched me in ways I cannot even describe and caused a serious book hangover for me. This is the first Boyne book that I've read and I just checked out five other Boyne books from Overdrive.

Lilac Girls is a historical fiction novel that follows the lives of three women in different parts of the world as World War II approaches and ends. I could not put this book down. Since it is inspired by a real person, there was a rabbit hole of information I got lost in after reading this one.

The Good People by Hannah Kent is a historical fiction novel based on a true story. It takes place in Ireland in 1825. Nora, newly widowed, is left to take care of her grandson. Is he really her grandson or have The Good People taken her real grandson and left this Changeling in its place? She seeks treatment for him from Nance, the herb woman with the Knowledge, to find out.

A False Report examines the police investigations of sexual assaults that took place in Washington and Colorado. Some investigators got it right, others got it wrong, but the toll those decisions by investigators took on the victims is undeniable. This is an incredibly important read for men and women, and especially for police.

An incredibly powerful story of what happens when the people we love and trust the most let us down. What was really brilliant about this book was the believability of the events that happened that made our hero fall from grace and how it impacted those in his life. Each character has high points and low points, making their reactions completely real because just like life has complexities, so does human nature.

I just finished I Am, I Am, I Am by Maggie O'Farrell. The writing is absolutely gorgeous. Off to find her novels...
