A giddy, riotous, fever dream of a book. I love when you find the moment in a debut novel when you see the author hit his stride.
This book felt like coming home after a long time away. Coming home lost and confused and searching for answers to questions you can't define. Coming to find that family isn't always blood, and isn't always perfect. But coming home nonetheless.
Only a third into this and I'm already insisting that people buy it. It's so interesting how books in translation give you such a taste for the rhythms and melodies of different languages. An entirely different perspective on living with war.
