A Dog's Purpose | W. Bruce Cameron

I expected this to be really hokey and sentimental and it kind of was, but it was better than I thought it would be. If you're an animal person (I'm not really), read it with some tissues close by.

Not totally unenjoyable, but it was slow. So slow. I never want to read the word barbecue again.

aprilbapryll Haaaa I think this was my rating too. Damn barbecue. 7y

Will someone please tell me how far I have to get into this book before I find out what happened at the damn barbecue?

BeckyBelt Way too far. Bail. Don't waste your time. 7y
ashleyb1182 @BeckyBelt I sallied forth, but you're right. Way too freaking far. 7y

The thing that drives me crazy about short stories is that they just...end. With no ending. But I suppose if the only bad thing I have to say about these short stories in particular is that I wanted more of them, well then. I'd have to recommend that book.

nikirtehsuxlol Most short stories seem to do that. They're just a slice of life! (edited) 7y

I can't decide how I feel about short stories, but eh. I'm reading them.

jess_mccoy That's one of my reading goals this year, to read short stories. I'll keep my eyes peeled for good recs. 7y

Only about halfway through, but really liking this book. Multiple narrators and storylines, but easy to follow.

HillaryCopsey I loved this one! 7y
