After reading August, I knew I would have to check this book out. Dog Run Moon is the first short stories book I have read. “Off The Track“ and “In Hindsight“ I absolutely love Callan Wink. His stories are so easy to read, yet so illustrative and intricate, and his characters are so simple, yet so deep and philosophical. He seems to have such a good understanding of the basic desires and thrills of human beings.

This is both the first novel Kurt Vonnegut wrote and the first of his I have read. It is a dark, satirical story of a dystopian world where man created what replaced him. I really enjoyed the sarcastic, ironic, witty humor. It was not my favorite story ever, but I am excited to read more of his work.

This story is amazing. It features some of the best imagery I have read. It is frightening, dark, and thrilling, yet charismatic, witty, and touching. I had checked this book out from my local library and had to return it before finishing it, so I then had to check it out again. Christopher Buehlman might just be my favorite author. I read this after reading Those Across the River and cannot wait to read the rest of his books.

It is now clear to me that H.G. Wells was very ahead of his time. This is such a cool story and it is crazy to think it is over 120 years old. I found it a little hard to read and follow at times, with how the story moves and the 19th century English, but I pushed through that little disconnect. I am glad I did, because my mind is quite blown.

This is such a good story. Dysfunctional, quirky, emotional, deep. It reminded me very much of my childhood experiences, siblings, and upbringing. I picked this book up used at my local library and I am so happy I did.

I stumbled upon the 12 Monkeys TV series almost 3 years ago, watched it, and it quickly became one of my favorite shows. Shortly after discovering that, I found out that it is loosely based on the 1995 movie, which I still have yet to see. This book is so good. It is puzzling, confusing, mysterious, and disorienting, and is the perfect display of the contrast between memories and reality.

I have been big a fan of Rhett and Link for many years, so it is not much of a surprise that this is one of the first books I have read in a long time or that I really enjoyed it. It is a cute Stranger Things-like story about a dark secret in a small North Carolina town, drawing on their childhood and hometown.

This is a good first novel. At times, it was a bit sporadic and disorienting, but part of me thinks that was intentional, with the subject matter and story. It is a very good take on things like trauma and addiction. Also, it is a pick of Reese's Book Club, which was founded by Reese Witherspoon and features books with “women at the center of the story,“ so that is pretty cool.

August (like the month after July) is a beautiful coming of age story about a boy and his journey from a Michigan childhood to the beginnings of a working adulthood in Montana. It touches on growing up, heartbreak, and familial issues, and reminded me of the small towns I grew up in and people I knew. I found it very touching and relatable, and did not want it to end.

I would not say I am a fan of Abbi Jacobson. I have never seen anything she has done, including Broad City. My girlfriend thought I would like this and lent it to me. She was right. Abbi is funny, sweet, and sarcastic in these almost coming of age style stories about writing and acting, family, friendship, and heartbreak.

This is the first novel I have read in years. It was scary and suspenseful, sweet and soft, and even funny and relatable. It is a great first novel in my opinion.

I am not a huge fan of Tom Segura and am also not familiar with the majority of his stand up comedy. His book is full of hilarious stories about life and being a comic. It was a very easy and fun read.

This is one of the first books I have read in a very long time, and I absolutely loved it. As a fan of both Nirvana and Foo Fighters, as well as Dave Grohl in general, I think this is a perfect collection of stories. Dave tells stories of his childhood, finding music, girls, friends, family, music, and love of every kind. It will make you think of your own memories, tear up, and smile.
