This book was so good despite itself.
The mc is a ghost who works at a suicide prevention hotline and has an apartment full of senior cats. A witch who is powered by corn is just a neat add on at that point. Great characters. Nice story. I maybe cried.
Keri Arthur throws so much at you and somehow makes it work. Elements of paranormal mixed with sci fi along with a romance, quite a mashup, but super compelling.
I keep trying to read this. Tough prose. Tough metaphors. Abundant buttsex. When does it get exciting?
Finished last night. I ran the gambit of emotions with this one. My only complaint is within literally the last few pages. Otherwise this book was great.
I've already preordered the sequel, even though i hear it involves new characters. To be fair i need to know how Jump Staition Heimdall went down so I ain't mad.
Are you serious? Has he really been dead this whole time? I'm dying over here.
Sunday Prime bookmail for Impromptu Bluestocking Book Club. Will have to start after Illuminae.
The rest of my bookmail includes the 4th October Daye novel. No excuses for not reading it now.
Eee! My new knitting book arrived. I can't wait to cast this on.
Finally getting around to reading this.
Had to take the dust jacket off to actually be able to handle this monster of a text well.
Not entirely sure I am into the text based chat and transcription logs (man I want to fix the formatting to be less dramatic and more readable but that is my day job talking), but it hasn't thrown me too hard out of the narrative yet.
