If you want a book that is going to make you feel every emotion known to man, this is the one. I cried for these characters, I smiled at their triumphs, and I laughed with them in the moments they found relief from their circumstances. This book tore me to pieces and I am eternally grateful to Ruta Sepetys for her careful research in creating this work of art.
Getting ready to start this. From what I've heard of it I'm not sure it's my cup of tea but you can't deny that the cover is gorgeous!
I am loving this series so much! I've always been a fan of historical fiction and Alison Weir never disappoints me!
The writing wasn't bad, although I did think she overused the italicizations. Half the words didn't seem to need that kind of emphasis and it was like the author was trying to make things intense simply by using italics. I also didn't really buy the plot line. Nothing ever felt "edge of your seat" and I mostly just didn't care how it ended.
This book was so good! The characters were just quirky enough and the plot was surprisingly intriguing. Gave me some serious National Treasure vibes. The ending, however, frustrated me. I hate cliffhangers. I need book two right now!
The art in this book was absolutely beautiful. The story was so engaging and I adored it.
Only about halfway through but this book has completely charmed me.
I don't generally read middle grade books but this one really caught my attention.
I have never fallen harder for a group of characters. This book destroyed me.
