My second try stuck. Dune the book, much like Dune the planet, is harsh and unforgiving. The story may seem slow, and the constant flipping-back to the glossary to find out *what the heck* chaumurky is may seem tedious, but it is so worth it. Part political drama, adventure tale, bildungsroman, ecological manual, and philosophical guide, this book is incredible. I am so so so glad I decided to pick it up again.
