Mehso-so

Enjoyable vacation read. It had some interesting twists and turns that left room for future novels in the series, but had the disconcerting habit of switching narrators mid-thought and without warning. It will be intriguing to see whether the new TV series stays true to the novel's plot or diverges as much as True Blood did from the Sookie Stackhouse series.

Pickpick

An enjoyable read that utilizes Lackey's knowledge of her home state of Oklahoma and her research into Osage and Cherokee native culture. It is an fun take on the urban fantasy noir genre in an unusual setting. Jenny Talldeer is a strong female protagonist that doesn't disappoint by falling cliche to simplistic tropes. A light read perfect for vacations.

Loved, loved, loved it! I adore the characters in Meyers' Lunar Chronicles series, so it was great to see a new addition from a character that deserved more time in the spotlight: Iko the android. Because she's such a unique personality, it was wonderful to see her tale through the graphic novel form. A definite "must-read!"

Heartless | Marissa Meyer
Pickpick

Wonderful--the author yearned for an origin story for the Queen of Hearts the likes of Gregory Maguire's Wicked and Confessions of an Ugly Stepsister, delivering that and much more by undertaking it herself. I loved it even though I've never been particularly keen on Lewis Carroll's original. A definite must-read for Wonderland and Lunar Chronicle fans alike!

CrossTalk | Connie Willis

Really loved the science-y development that Willis put into the way a person could become telepathic, especially if they get some sort of unnecessary surgical procedure to develop an empathic connection with a significant other. Loved the plot immensely--it was fun and well-paced.
