Pickpick

Short, quick read about a British artist married to a French woman and the aftermath of his affair. Kept my attention. Interesting to compare to Life Drawing by Robin Black, about a woman artist who has an affair (Black's book is weightier and better-written; this book has a certain charm and hopefulness.)

Pickpick

Had heard so much about this classic business text that I had to read it. A bit dated in its language & examples, but the core of Carnegie's advice still holds true. Strikes me that he recommends what we might call a "feminine" communication style, with emphasis on listening & self-deprecation.
