She kept her distance close to her ribs like a favourite ghost more real than the squeak of the windows being lifted to acknowledge another day.

Mehso-so

There were a few stellar poems but many seemed to go right over my head. There weren't any I hated. I thought the exploration of language and palimpsest was cool.

From the very first chapter I knew Heart of Mist was going to whisk me away to my dream fantasy world. I love books I can fully escape into, and Heart of Mist certainly gave me that. Book 2 is out soon and I'm soo keeeeen!

I'm no expert on the sci-fi genre, but this book had so much to love: fantastic female characters, creative worldbuilding, themes of 'otherness' and identity, fast-paced action, twists and turns...

Nora has amazing abilities. She's an Echo. But Echoes are feared and hunted. Nora is trying to find out more about her past and her self. But what follows is a story filled with alien technology, hackers, new friends, and untold secrets.

The Love of a Bad Man by Laura Elizabeth Woollett is a spellbinding collection of short stories from the perspectives of the women in love with notorious men.

Delving into the fictional minds of the likes of Eva Braun or the cult following Charles Manson (and many others) was captivating and creepy. Woollett has a real knack for character and haunting imagery.

I really liked where this series started out! Strong opening, great characters, fast plot... lost mw with EoS. But Throne of Glass was great!

"The coast of Australia stretched out in front of them as the first signs of Old Sydney appeared. The rusted, salt-stained ruins of broken buildings reached out of the ocean towards the sky.

Some looked in danger of crumbling away beneath the waves at any moment and Nora fancied she could almost hear the whine of their final days through the glass and over the drumming smash of waves upon steel."

So many feelings from this series! Still reeling from all that happened and can't wait to start Voyager soon.
