October 27, 2024 At this point, which is halfway through the book, it sounds as if Matthew Claymore could be connected to the disappearance of Laura McAllister because he was dating her and he also belonged to the frat. Could he also be connected to the killing of Alexandra Quilan's family OR is he not guilty? What do you think?? For those that have not read it, what are your thoughts so far? Mysterious muhahaha

October 26, 2024 On Chapter 33. SO MUCH HAS HAPPENED... There is a lot of back and forth in this story so at least the author included timestamps for the various events. Another case unfolded where a girl named Laura McAllister, who attends McCormack University, has her own podcast called The Scoop. She talks about true crime on there and shares details about actual crimes. She leaked the story about a guy named Duncan Chadwick and a frat party.

October 26, 2024 Now, Alexandra is rescued by Garrett Lancaster again and taken back home because he doesnt think that school at Cambridge University is a good idea. School is a very bad idea. So Alexandra Quinlan changes her NAME and her APPEARANCE to blend in with the rest of the world. Her new name is Alex Armstrong and she works for Lancaster. Lancaster gives her a job for free as his assistant and learns how to investigate a case.

Little do they know, she knows how to shoot guns and has a gun in her possession to defend herself, thanks to her dad. Garret, her public defense attorney, felt that she should have it in case of danger. What will she do with it???

October 26, 2024 (continued) Alexandra, aka Alex meets a young couple. One of them is named Drew. The other is named Laverne. They have been follwing Alex all the way to England because they know that she won a court case where she received 20 million dollars (not quite true). Drew is aware that he had seen her at a bank in Switzerland where she deposited 1 million dollars. She denies but ends up bargaining with them and gives them some cash.

October 26, 2024 Damnnnn... This book that I am reading is sucking up my brain. The words that the author uses are very particular but also enticing because they make you want to read more. Each author, whether they write fiction, sci-fi, fantasy, or thriller, has a way of "pulling in" the reader and making them continue reading. I am on page 112 and so far the main character, Alexandra Quinlan, is attending Cambridge where she goes to college.

October 24, 2024 What the heck? What the hell? I can't believe that I just read what I read!!! There are so many twists and turns in this book. Who is the bad guy? Is it Slug (Tom's only friend)? Is it Randy? Is it Gretchen? Or is it Tom? I am not one to spoil the story. So PLEASE READ IT FOR YOURSELF I am telling you right now that you won't regret that decision. October 24, 2024 haha 10/24/24 Um Can anyone explain to me why I have been breezing through this book? I am on page 118. Whenever I read a book by Freida McFadden, I feel like I cannot put it down. What a surprise... Sydney is trying to figure out who killed Bonnie her friend. Gretchen, Bonnie, and Sydney were best friends until Bonnie gets tortured and mutilated. The funeral occurs and she sees Kevin sitting in the back of the church. Was it HIM?

October 23, 2024 Based on how the ending was, I could tell that Emma and Justin were going to be able to make their relationship work. Emma had a hard time with her Mom Amber because her mom had hid the fact that she had a half brother as well as aunts and cousins (all of whom she never met) until Maddy asked if she wanted to find out where she came from and if she had other relatives. Im so happy that Emma and Justin are together forever 😘🥰❤️

Emma really had strong emotions for Justin and Justin shows thay he cares deeply for her, especially when Emma felt sick for three days straight (shown by vomiting) and he sent a friend and his wife, who was a nurse too, to help revive and give her more fluids. She was very dehydrated. Justin did come to her place on a unicorn floatie and helped make her meals to get better faster #love

October 19, 2024 Late to the game on reading this book. IkIk I have wanted to read this book but was in a reading slump - we all have those! Back into reading it and have been liking it. It is pretty sad at the part I am on because Emma is not getting the kiss that she was expecting from Justin. Justin said he had two more chances to give her a real kiss. October 16, 2024 I learned a lot from this book. It was humorous, witty, and full of character. I loved how the author, Curtis Chin shared his own experiences by categorizing each section with titles like: The Tea, Appetizers and Soups, Rice and Noodles, Main Entrees, The Fortune Cookie. He connected his understanding of Chinese food and incorporated moments of his life where he ate the food with family and working in the Chung's. Very relatable

October 15, 2024 The quote on page 162 is a good quote to share because it acts as a reminder that it is okay to identify as gay. No one (whether they themselves are straight or gay) should dehumanize someone who is gay. "Maybe being gay wasn't a death sentence. Maybe there was life and even joy. What that might look like for me, I have no idea, but at least there was hope, and as a young gay teen.... middle of a plague".

October 14, 2024 The author, Curtis Chin seemed to have a very hard time growing up. His parents owned a Chinese restaurant while their kids (Craig, Calvin, Cindy) + 2 more young ones (that the mom had later) helped to run the restaurant. Curtis is the middle child and being the middle child can be tough at times, especially trying to impress your parents. SO Curtis decides to do a lot of things to impress his mom but his mom is very traditional.

October 14, 2024 Wow! Midway through October and I am about midway through this book. It was pretty interesting because the author speaks about his own life through the lens of a Chinese restaurant. He does pronounce some of the Chinese foods incorrectly but forewarns the reader. I know how to speak Chinese and so far I am able to understand. The author seems to be pretty comical. However when things get sad, he shares that side too.

October 2, 2024 Still reading The Chinese Groove by Kathryn Ma but decided to visit one of my favorite bookstores, Green Apple, on Clement St because I wanted to see what they had. Came across these two gems and will be reading them soon...One of the books is a gift for my mom 🤪🧐🥳

September 29, 2024 I was enjoying the book but also felt like it was a predictable ending. The book focused on two people who had different lives and crossed paths u expectedly but then became one. It was easy for me to guess the outcome based on the title and what was happending during the book. I would rate this 4/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Gianna said that it wasn't adult-like and that they should both tell her kids as well as the rest of the family. Will Gianna and Beckett be together at the end or will their relationship get torn apart?? Stay tuned for the rest of the book

September 29, 2024 Hey Litsy community! One more day until the end of September and 2 more days until October arrives!!! October, November, December are my favorite months of the year (the burrr months) despite the weather. This is a time to get cozy, make hot chocolate, and snuggle into your bed while it rains or whatever. UPDATE: On page 207 of the book and Gia AND Beckett have strong feelings for each other. 😉

July 26, 2024 Olympics in Paris??! My favorite sports to watch in the Olympics are swimming, diving, and gymnastics. July 25, 2024 More than halfway through the book and Rosie is having feelings for Donovan Ng, a famous tech guy. Ever since she met him, she has felt very comfortable around him. He is just a normal person like her tbh. I mean, seriously though, what is "normal"? Anyway, days go by and she has been getting letters from close friends of Dotty ever since Dotty passed away. Meanwhile, she is working at Le Agency and trying her best to get promoted.

July 22, 2024 Woooohooo! I got through the book and was so happy that Rebel Wilson found love. Yes, she was straight. Yes, she was interested in men. Yes, she ended up with a woman. She does not consider herself to be "gay". She loved being around Ramona. Vice versa. AND most importantly, her mom approved of their relationship, which she was afraid of going wrong. But love is love. One can love whomever they want to. No judgement. #loveislove

July 22, 2034 At the end of the chapter, the tennis player and she finally kiss. They kiss A LOT. We take it to the bedroom and sleep together. It's amazingly sensual. Then Rebel asks if she can come and see her for like thirty minutes. The tennis player says, "No. The answer is a hard no". Now Rebel is thinking that she doesn't want to be with her.

July 22, 2024 When I read the words, "And right then I was hit with a curveball that I never saw coming" (page 263) I knew what she was thinking. The next chapter titled, The Tennis Player, gives me a very strong hint that she could not take her eyes off of the woman. She kept staring at her and then minutes later, she was having dinner (not quite a date) with her. She was nervous and afraid to ask the question, "Are you into women?"

July 21, 2024 On page 206 which means I am toward the end of the memoir. The book is overall funny and serious but what makes it easy to read is that the words come from Rebel (as we know she is funny as heck). But the chapter on Letter to My Father was probably the saddedt chapter in the whole book 😢

July 16, 2024 Rebel Rising is surpassing my expectations. I did not expect Rebel Wilson to write so well. I knew that she was a comedian and famous actress but idk, she sounds like she could be SO EASY to talk to in reality and someone who one can JOKE around with on the daily.
