December 1, 2023 Happy Holidays 🎄🤩😍
November 30, 2023 So sorry to report that something had me gone for a month or so here on Litsy. Idk what happened to my account BUT i managed to email them and get it fixed... EVERYTHING IS A-OK! Anyway I finished this book last week and I thought it was a good book. I would recommend it to anyone who likes Temple Grandin or just wants to read the difference between a visual thinker & object thinker 😊
October 12, 2023 About to start Chapter Nine of this book. I feel like when I read books written by people of color, it is more relatable. People of color have different stories to tell ( personal, historical, or biographical ) and I am HERE FOR IT! Being able to find a book that I can personally relate to ( sort of ) is very freeing. I think to myself, "Wow, this is something that I will remember and always cherish."
October 10, 2023 As promised, I would give a rating... Drumroll please: duh duh duh duh! 5/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The ending was so lovely. The words in yhe epilogue quite touching: "Because the things that mattered most never really left. The love stays. The love always stays, and so do we."
October 8, 2023 Happy Fall and Happy Octoburrr!!! Ik that I have yet to update my Litsy but I have been busy haha Anyway, I am on page 249 out of 324. This is when Clementine gets told by Earl that she had something in her mailbox. She was estatic but also shocked. What could it be? It was a letter that Vera sent Clementine's aunt, Analea. She and Analea had dated thirty years ago. She must think that Analea is still around or something...
September 15, 2023 I am loving this book. I like how the author goes back and forth between past and present but doesnt make it confusing. Some authors tend to write in a confusing way and I get lost because the writing is all over the place... Too hard to follow and leads to me taking an even longer time finishing... which I dont like doing! So authors, please write and entertaining book. Thank you
September 10, 2023 This book is very FALL. The colors remind me of Fall therefore I am reading it. The book focuses on three characters: Clementine's aunt, Clementine, and a mysterious handsome man with a Southern accent and drawl, Iwan. Clementine was told by her aunt who passed away that the apartment has secrets. Her aunt met Vera; now she meets Iwan. Could this be true love? Could this be a coincidence? Idk but I am hooked
September 9, 2023 Woohoo Hooray Hoorah I finished the book. I was so WANTING and DESPERATE to finish the book... cuz it took me awhile to finish. I would say that the theme of book is: Things take time to get over. Sharing emotions with someone you love; especially if you are afraid of getting hurt. Overall, the ending was good. Cleo is pregnant. Wyn and Harriet get married and Harriet is in her "Happy Place"
September 3, 2023 Doesn't the light hit 'just right' on my book? Haha Happy Fall ya'll!!! Hope you are drinking pumpkin spice or eating pumpkin pie or just getting in the Fall mood. I am feeling in the Fall mood. Fun Fact: Despite the weather, my favorite seasons of the year are Fall and Winter.
August 22, 2023 New book! Started today and fall-ing in love with it a little too fast. (Get it?) The thing about Emily Henry is that she does not keep you on your toes. I feel like she gets to the point and keeps the story going without making you guess what will happen next. Right off the bat, she explains how Sabrina & Parth, Cleo and Kimmy, and her and Wyn Connor are all friends. However, Sabrina & Parth surprise Harriet with Wyn, her fiańce.
August 21, 2023 I had this book as a tbr. I finished the book but did not feel that it was that good. I had higher expectations bc Taylor Jenkins Reid's previous books were SUPERB. I was a bit bored and it took a while for me to reach the good part of the book. 3/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️
August 21, 2023 I am on page 296... omg I only have like very little pages left to read. sigh I mean just by reading the title of the book, Taylor Jenkins Reid gives the outcome of book right away. There is no need to really read the book tbh. A quote that I liked was, "Carrie Soto is human. But she's superhuman" (page 296)
August 21, 2023 I REALLY WANT TO READ THIS BOOK RIGHT NOW... but I have not finished Carrie Soto is Back. Was this book good, okay, or so-so? Everyone has a different opinion but I want to stay on track with my reading
August 20, 2023 Last time I had updated was on August 6. I thought it was time for a new update. I am on page 216 out of 364 - more than halfway and I am not feeling like I reached the climax. The author is basically talking about her playing tennis and practicing tennis.
August 6, 2023 Not sure when the last time I posted something was but here is another post! I am on page 117 and I am enjoying the book so far. There is a lot of tennis lingo but the whole book revolves around tennis and tennis players and tennis moves... not surprised. Just wish I could reach the climax of the book a little faster bc the part I am on is a bit slow
July 26, 2023 Wow I was shocked at the ending!!! I thought one thing but something else happened. I thought that Kristen was going to stay alive and Aaron would get killed by Aaron but instead Aaron kills Kristen with his car bc he knew that Emily didn't want Kristen around based on her weird behavior. Truthfully, I did not want Kristen around either based on how she was acting towards Emily. Glad that Emily and Aaron are alive. 5/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
July 24, 2023 Ladies and gentleman, boys and girls, children from all over the world, may I announce that I am on page 252 out of 300 (yes 300 exactly) and I am very conflicted about what kind of person Kristen is. Is she nice? Maybe. Jealous? Super jealous. Manipulative? Maybe. Confident? Yes. A killer? I don't know 100% yet...
July 20, 2023 So happy to be alive and have the privilege to BUY books, whether they are paperback or hardback. I have more books that I want to buy but some of them are not in paperback. Other tbr that I have listed include: Mad Honey by Jodi Picoult, Hello Beautiful by Ann Napolitano, and Womb by Leah Hazard
July 18, 2023 Already began reading this book and have reached page 120. The main characters that are talked about are Kristen and Emily. Aaron is Emily's bf and she is trying to figure out of he is the one. Kristen is a good friend of hers BUT asks her to help AGAIN. From then on, she begins having flashbacks and horrific reminders of when they buried Paolo in Chile. The first time was in Cambodia.
July 15, 2023 This book was very violent towards the end because well, hmmm, should I even say what happens at the end? Nah!!! I WANT you to read it yourself. Hint: Some ppl do die at the end. Maybe I should say five (however I am not saying WHO). Please let me know your thoughts. My rating for the book is a 5/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
July 13, 2023 On page 223 out of 309 and I have reached the climax of the book. This book definitely has some "reckless girls" in it. Brittany and Amma are good friends, Jake and Eliza are a couple, and Nico and Lux are a couple. However, things get weird when Amma hooks up and sleeps with Nico because her bf died in a car accident and Nico reminds her of her ex. Sadly, Lux does not have anyone to go to now. She also knows about J & E: secrets
July 11, 2023 Happy Prime Day. Tomorrow is also Prime Day but i am not into it. I am on page 120 and have finally gotten to some suspenseful parts. I cannot wait to read on and see what happens next. I am on the section where Lux, Nico, Brittany, Amma, Jake, and Eliza are all on an island in Hawaii and Lux stumbles upon a skull. Whose skull could it be? How long was it there for?
July 9, 2023 Perfect way to end off the book Brianna Wiest: "Your struggles will be what make you what you are". I could not have said it better. This is super relatable and I am happy that I got to be a reader of this self help book. It has made me think a lot and help me become a better version of myself 5/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
July 8, 2023 Omg I am on page 313 out of 441 and another quote spoke to me. The quote says: You don't "have" to, you "get" to. In simple terms, when one starts considering things not as obligations but opportunities, one starts taking advantage of them rather than trying to avoid them. An example would be getting up early. You don't have to wake up early, you get to wake up early etc
July 8, 2023 BOOKS ON MY TBR: We Were Never by Andrea Bartz and Reckless Girls by Rachel Hawkins. I have seen the latter go around like crazy. I am excited to read Reckless Girls once I am done with 101 Essays that will change the way you think by Brianna Wiest
July 8, 2023 Happy Saturday! I have been keeping these four books on my bookshelf as IDK-WHAT-TO-DO-WITH book... like idk when i will read them if you know what I mean... anyway I did order two new books off Amazon and they arrived yesterday which is good bc I was in a book slump. I am finishing 101 Essays that will change the way you think by Brianna Wiest first tho 😅
July 5, 2023 I am progressing slowly through the book, page 226 out of 441, and two quotes spoke to me: "You want love to change your life" & "You don't realize that you love most about others...is what you love most about yourself". Both are 100% true. One has to love and be kind to themselves before they can love someone else. Love yourself first and always ♥️
July 5, 2023 I SWEAR(okay not for real; just figuritively speaking) where did the time go???! Yesterday was July 4th (Happy July 4th). Decided to pick up this book bc it does not have a time limit set to you. One can read it anytime or just for some motivation...
June 27, 2023 On April 12, 2023, I picked up this book BUT did not exactly take time to read it. I stopped on page 64 out of 397 which is not even half of the book. I feel like I can continue the book although the author focuses a lot on video games and I am not someone who is into them or even plays them. How did you finish the book if you are were not a video game fan?
June 26, 2023 FINISHED THIS BOOK FINALLY! It took me some time to finish it but I sort of knew what was going to take place at the end so it was no surprise. Hint: It ends on a good note. Majority of the book is focused on Fern and Will's relationship and whether they are going to come back together after ten years. I would give this a 4/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
June 14, 2023 Psst... I am a little more than halfway through the book and I stopped at a steamy part between Fern and Will Baxter. Fern and Will met ten years ago but come across each other again ten years later and Fern had always wondered why he never returned sooner. The book goes back and forth from past to present. Imo, the book kind of starts out slow. I still feel like it is on the slow side however okay if you want to get out of a slump!
June 6, 2023 Oh boy!!! Carly Fortune is bliss. Her reading is very simple yet keeps one on their toes. I found myself flipping theough the pages. Some of the characters that appear in the book are: Fern, her mom (who passed away in a car accident), Jamie (Fern's ex), Will Baxter (a guy that Fern liked ten years ago at the age of 22 and happens to meet again ten years later), and Whitney (her best friend). Still reading of course...
June 5, 2023 Ik I have been gone for a little bit but I was busy. No excuse to mention that but the truth is the truth. Anyway, during the summer, I will try to post more updates but I just wanted to share that. I started Portrait of a Thief in honor of AAPI month but feel like I should start Meet Me at the Lake by Carly Fortune because I really liked her last book Every Summer After. I feel like all romance books sound the same. Lmk...
May 13, 2023 Another memoir for ya! This book is exactly like Publishers Weekly stated, "This real-life hero's journey is a knockout". TRUE Simu Liu really goes in detail about his parents, their life with him, and then his life with them. He discusses the hurdles he had to go through through various stages of his life and how he felt as an Asian American. Well done Simu
May 12, 2023 In honor of AAPI month, another book (graphic novel) that I decided to purchase was this one by Gene Yang. I read about it in the Datebook which was part of the newspaper. I was like, "I gotta get that graphic novel". Perfect for this month and also brings awareness to ABCs and how we have been disciminated; just trying to fit into society
May 10, 2023 I am on page 167 out of 285. That is more than halfway. An interesting thing I learned about Simu Liu is that he became an Abrecrombie & Fitch model. Remember those days?! I remember it very clearly. Whenever I went to the mall and passed by the store, I was hit with a strong scent of clogne. I mean, it smelled good but was very STRONG.
May 8, 2023 OMG Ya'll... I bought this book yesterday and I am already on page 102 (Chapter 9). Simu Liu (the guy from ShangChi and the Legend of the Ten Rings wrote a memoir. A very captivating one to be exact! He talks about his grandparents and how they raised him before he met his parents. His parents were foreign to him and he had to adjust to life as a youngster just like they had to adjust to life in America. They moved from China to Canada
May 7, 2023 Happy May. April Showers bring May flowers!!! Happy AAPI month and Happy Mental Health Awareness month. Shoutout to all the Asian American authors and Asian American teachers who are teaching and giving knowledge to our youth to this day. We appreciate your work and willingness to teach our students the importance of what it is like to be an Asian American in the world we live in today. In honor of AAPI, I will be read Simu Liu's book
