My morning companion while the house was still fully asleep. And such. Delightful companion she is too.
My morning companion while the house was still fully asleep. And such. Delightful companion she is too.
My beautiful@old girl keeping me company while I quietly read
Now I thought wolf spiders were the only ones to do this. Happy to find out otherwise!
My reading buddy today, in her new collar all the ay from the US
Meet our newest outdoor critter. This Blue Tongue has decided she is going to share the back yard….and the cat food. Sometimes she grabs the bowl with her mouth and tries to drag it away! My youngest has named her Petra. She is not young either, she is really a large bluey
I can‘t find this book listed on here anywhere, but it‘s the one I‘m going to start tonight.m
I learned a lot from this book. I wish more of the creatures included were in my state so I could attempt to find them…but there are still many odd little creatures I‘d like to go find one day.
To start tomorrow. Not sure how I will go as books in war are not really my thing, but still trying to read my way around the world.
I really love Harry Dresden books! This one is no exception.
Staring down 40c in Adelaide today. Doing everything we can to stay cool. If we do hit 40 it will be the earliest in the season we have since 2006
Came in at the library today so I must read it straight away
Well, there you go, I had no idea we had fireflies here in Australia!
I think the old language was just too different to today and my brain was not computing easily. So unfortunately I‘m bailing for now
Really looking forward to the forth volume to come in at the library. This series deals with some hard topics but in a gentle way.
This series is just so sweet. I‘m really enjoying it!
I really enjoyed learning about some of the common insects that we find here. And learning some facts that I never know!
Loving the colour of this baby blanket. It‘s brighter than the photo shows.
A beautiful day for reading outside while waiting to be picked up. It‘s been wet, hot, humid, stormy here and this week coming looks like a lot of the same coming. I swear it wasn‘t this tropical in Adelaide when I was a child! This is Queensland weather!
I have ways loved the idea of seeing a hatterpillar in real life. A few years ago we came across one..l10 mm long..in Belair national park. I‘m so glad we only took photos and always respect wildlife …cause ouch! And I only found that out reading this! 😳
Spending time reading at the drs while we wait to be called in. My son has foot surgery last week. We brought special bags to go over his foot to shower and of course when he tried this morning it didn‘t work…so we are waiting for bandage changes. At least it‘s quiet here!
Meet Abigail. Her and Agatha‘s joined our family on Tuesday. We have been preparing for them for weeks and I went down the rabbit hole learning as much as I could. They are Giant bark jumping spiders, but are as big as my pinky nail! Jumpers are the most intelligent arachnids, have dream cycles (as per a Harvard study), have the number recognition of a toddler, and recognise voice vibrations. I am in love with her.
It‘s a good day for reading and crafting.
To start tomorrow night (cause I can‘t read small print without daylight and my mind book has smaller print)
Most people who follow me know I‘m not a frog if novel person but every now and then….
Heartstopper is a really sweet story. My daughter is right about how good it is. I‘m going to have to finish the series.
My daughter loves the show. I have seen the first few episodes. So I‘m going to try reading the graphic novels.
I couldn‘t get into this one so giving myself permission to DNF
Very few books get a five star from me and this one does. It is as good as the first book in the series and I‘m truely looking forward to the next instalment next year.
I read this as part of my reading around the world challenge, and it was pretty good. There are two more to the trilogy but crime, suspense and thriller and not my usual genre so I don‘t think I will continue. It‘s a great beginning if that is a genre you love though.
Tomorrow I‘m looking forward to starting this. I really fell in love with the first book and am hoping this one will be just as good.
I wasn‘t sure how I would go with this book as it was written way back in the 80s, but surprisingly I loved it. The plot is really rather different than I have read before and the story got me interested fast! I have been trying to find where I can stream the movie but unfortunately it‘s not on any of our services.
Staying home today so I can rest. There is a storm brewing and it‘s so nice and quiet. Nature can provide the perfect backdrop at times.
This one has been on my TBT for a LONG time. Looking forward to seeing if it‘s as good as I hope!
It took me a lot to get into this one. But I did actually complete it. I know a lot of people love this series but for the first half of the book I have to say Elena really grated on me with her entitled attitude. But I think I will read the second. Hopefully it will be better than the first.
Todays waiting place is the library near my sons TAFE. The early mornings are killing me but he is enjoying it. And this is the most reading I have got done in a while.
My son is trailing TAFE today so I‘m staying in the area. Having coffee at Primrose Lane at Christie‘s beach.
I don‘t know how long it‘s taken me to read this, but it‘s been a LONG while. It‘s spent a lot of time between my place and the library but I liked it so much I didn‘t want to give up on it, and I‘m glad I didn‘t. I just loved the story and the fantastical world that Gaiman created.
Going to start reading this book set in Finland for part of my read around the world challenge. (I‘m also back to reading Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman as it‘s finally back in from the library…that‘s been one hell of a slow read!)
Vegan pancakes at the pancake kitchen before we duck into the library for some book searching
Finished last night. I love the black one witch series, and Jo Spurriers writing. If you love YA fantasy give this a go.
Research starts now 🤫🥰
Tiny tiny little book haul from our local savers secondhand shop.
About to start this one. When I read the first in this series I had no idea the author was very local to me. I‘m looking forward to this second instalment.
A well written picture book based on WW2. I say roughly suitable for 7 to 9 year olds and though the topic is heavy it isn‘t too explicit about what happened during the holocaust.
A children‘s book, yes. But the first I came across when I was searching Libby for Denmark.
I‘m all out of library books till I go back…..so thought I‘d work on my reading around the world on going challenge.
