A Little Life: A Novel | Hanya Yanagihara
Pickpick

It's addictive, difficult, painful, sometimes heavy handed, but also touching and beautiful. I found myself sobbing audibly and often. I wanted desperately to reassure Jude, to save him. My one criticism is that with so much time spent fleshing out the four main characters, it seemed odd when the focus narrowed so tightly on only Willem and Jude. I loved it, but don't know who to recommend it to since the experience was so deeply intimate.

SarahKay I feel the same way. It was beautiful but so dark and intense I'm not sure about recommending it. It's my favorite book of the year, for sure. 8y
