Really an environmental history of the Animas River. Fascinating and detailed. Great example of the genre of journalist writing deeply about subjects explored more briefly in articles. Gave me a totally different appreciation for this part of the country.

I really enjoyed this book and found myself wishing more people would read it too. A useful perspective in diversity and body acceptance that differs from other takes I‘s seen before.

Wonderful. So much information and perspective on the Great Migration at I hadn‘t learned. Every American should read it.

This book can be read very quickly and is fairly entertaining. It was great fodder for discussion at book club. However, I would stop short of recommending it not because it‘s not good but because there are better books out there.

This is one of the worst books that I have ever read. It starts out bad and it never improves. It is a stream of tired stereotypes from the white male perspective and self important. It basks in its self-importance and cleverness despite being factually wrong about many of the points needed for the arguments to even make sense. It is hard for me to imagine anyone other than the most sheltered highschooler finding this book profound.
