Call me old fashioned but generally I like to have met the characters before the pussy eating begins

Having read this story first a number of years ago I was delighted to find that it holds up well and is just as intriguing as it was the first time I read it. The banter between Tobias and Lavinia is wonderful.

I loved that Julia wrote these two as equals in every sense of the word.

Spies and blackmail, revenge, a scandalous red dress and an even more scandalous mechanical chair make this funny and steamy story a delight to read. I enjoyed it very much. Medium Steam. Delightful banter and adventures that involve a runaway otter, a pregnant goat, a two legged dog who frequently needs rescuing, the aforementioned parrot who has a quite salty vocabulary as well as a plethora of kittens make this one of my favourite books that I‘ve read this year. Medium Steam.
