I loved the flow of the prose and the pacing of this novel more than anything. The character development and the way the story was put together never really seemed to connect with me and, in the end, the novel just left me wanting.
"We all come into existence as a single cell, smaller than a speck of dust."
The biggest problem I have with this book is the voice. The author switches character points of view with each chapter and I like that concept, only he doesn't have a distinctive voice or style for each character. That really bothers me for some reason. I'm still trying to like the novel, though.
I really enjoy how this book is centered on that "against the grain" sort of thinking that I value so highly.
I'm only less than 100 pages in, but it's quite an interesting concept. I'm waiting to see if I get hooked completely or not.
