Oh lord, this book. It's amazing. As a Chinese born American myself, I could connect wonderfully with the daughters. The style of writing is as unique as 'The Book Thief', and each character is vibrant and deep. It also made me appreciate my mother and grandparents so much more, demonstrating that there is always more under the surface than what the eye sees. As cheesy as it sounds, words can't accurately describe Amy Tan's 'The Joy Luck Club'.

Honestly I loved it more than I thought I would. Especially Max, with her badass personality and total feminist attitude. The other characters are wonderful too, with scary-but-sweet Angel and Iggy. I love Iggy. Patterson writes him as blind, but without the condescending crap. Iggy is wonderful, talented, and funny. Like Toph from Avatar! Anyway, no matter who you are, this is a book for you!

I usually don't go for spy books, but this one really hooked me. It's the first in a series, and absolutely AMAZING. The characters are all perfectly balanced to be realistic, and the plot twists and turns as much as a roller coaster. Who doesn't want to read about a school of thieves and criminals?
