Princess Ever After | Rachel Hauck

While not quite as "charming" as Once Upon a Prince, this second book in the Royal Weddings series was very enjoyable.
I'm looking forward to continuing this series of modern day fairy tales. (Audiobook)

A wonderful follow-up to Once Upon a Prince that could also be a fun stand-alone novella for those who enjoy modern day fairy tales and stories that involve faith and romance. (audiobook)

A modern day fairy tale that manages to be pure escapist fun while featuring believable characters with realistic problems who are grounded in their faith.
First in a series of four books, perfect follow-up to binge-watching The Crown on Netflix. I'm listening to the first three books on audiobook.

As the 2nd book in the Storm Siren trilogy, the pace is slower & the story a little less engaging, but worth the read if you enjoyed Storm Siren.
I'm looking forward to book 3, Siren's Song. Shaping up to be among my favorite YA fantasy series.

Heart-breaking and wonderful with a compelling narrative voice. Set in small town, depression era Mississippi, we first meet Millie Reynolds as a 9 year old, living in former slave quarters with her depressed and drug addicted mother and mostly absentee, abusive father. Continuing through her teen years and first romances, Millie is a character to admire for her refusal to be a victim & ability to find her faith.

Recommended for those who enjoy Westerns set in the 1800's, with clean romance and a bit of humor included. I also recommend that you read the novella, The Boden Birthright, prior to reading this novel. It is currently available as a free ebook.

The Things We Knew is heart-rending and wonderful. It wrecked me in the best way, and I can't recommend it enough.

Whimsical & delightful text by Wendy Froud & illust by Brian Froud. A mix of fairy art, ephemera, photographs, journal entries & letters tell the story of 17yo Maddi discovering her legacy as a Cottington.
Perfect for fans of the Frouds, fairies, and wonderfully eccentric ancestors.
Full review (with a few short quotes) on my blog. Available for pre-order, hb or ebook, with a release date of Sept 27, 2016.

Her One and Only | Becky Wade

This is the fourth book in Becky Wade's Porter Family series, this time focusing on the youngest Porter, Dru. She's a former wild child turned Marine, now a black-belt and a bodyguard. Her first assignment back, after a job where everything went wrong, is to protect a star NFL player from his stalker. Gray doesn't want a bodyguard, and decides to have Dru pose as his girlfriend. Like that's a good idea...

Started reading Into the Free last night & was instantly hooked. The writing and the voice are fantastic - first person narrative, the main character is starting off as a 9 year old girl. While I love library/Overdrive ebooks (they suit my frugal ways) I think I may need to buy a copy (the Fiction Guild sent me the sequel When Mountains Move, so I need both as physical copies, right?!) #christianfiction #juliecantrell #tnzfiction

River Rest | Susan Page Davis
post image
Pickpick

River Rest by #SusanPageDavis is a #novella set in 1918. As the First World War is coming to a close, the oldest Chadbourne son is drafted, leaving more of the burden of keeping the family and farm together to the reserved Judith. The neighbor/friend of her brother both fascinates and intimidates Judith...
A lovely, heart-warming story based on the diary of the author's great-aunt. 3.5/5 stars Full review at bookworlder.wordpress.com
