A soft pick for my next #roll100 read. I enjoyed the characterisation of the 4 very different sisters, ands this was really different to what I was expecting (in a good way!) Not sure if I will continue the series but this was worth a read.

Good storytelling in this YA fantasy containing elements of East Asian folklore.

The 3rd book of the Hades Saga was a little bloated with the different perspectives. I get whyyyy because then none of the mysteries would be explained from Touch of Malice… but I expected the explanation in Touch of Chaos, so the ending was more impactful in ToM. It still has a lot of plot for a book with THIS MUCH smut 😂

I read this book in May 2017, not the best story, slow pace but it had something that I liked. It was a sad romance story between these two characters 💔

This YA is a fun read with steamy parts and a stupid cliffhanger!!! Must find the next book…..

I credit my Sophomore English teacher for my love of Greek mythology.
T. Kingfisher's riff on Poe's iconic story begins with Alex Easton receiving a letter from Madeline Usher that she is sick. Easton travels to the dilapidated sprawling house, surrounded by a strange lake & animals who are acting unusual, that she shares with her brother Roderick. There were parts of this that I really loved, but I found Kingfisher's character work a bit off putting at times. It felt like a mashup between YA & adult, still a (CONT)
3.5/5🌟 — I don‘t feel like this book stood up to the strong plotlines that book 1 & 2 had. Book 1 was a unique retelling of Beauty & the Beast, while book 2 had fantastic character development & focused solely on Grey. This 3rd book meanwhile was mostly talking & plotting, then when it came for the final battle I found it lacking. It was predictable & I wish a different character had dealt the killing blow. But I did enjoy this series as a whole.
I finished this but by the end I could have cared less if Red found her sister. A retelling of Little Red Riding hood. The woods that attacked and attacked got to me by the ending…did anyone like this out there?
