Another classic children's book. I guess I'm missing something with these... 3/5 ⭐️ but he likes them good enough

For lovers of Snowy Day, this book is summertime with Peter and his dog Willie. Gorgeous illustration, similar to the original.

This is a very sweet and fun poetry story. I would definitely read this to future students!

This is a cute short story that is all poetry. This story was published in 1964. It is all about a boy and his dog. The boy is trying to whistle to get his dogs attention. It is a sweet story about a young boy who doesn‘t give up. He ends up conquering what he set out to do. It is a very sweet story.

Dressing up in his dads clothes to channel his inner whistle! I remember playing pretend in my moms clothes too!

Published in 1964, the little boy peter wants to whistle for his puppy. The book has very good poetic rhythm by rhyming the words at the beginning to the end of the sentence. Very cute book that children would be quick to relate to if they cannot whistle.

A great, classic story told in poetic prose shows a young boy learning to whistle. The rhythm really helped move it alone and give it a nice, relaxing tone

Whistle for Willie by Ezra Jack Keats (poetry, published 1964) was a classic story i remember from my childhood. The imagery was really nice & it had a nice, definite rhythm to it. I want to have it for my classroom for sure

Good illustrations and cute story! Pictures fill the pages but are very straight to the point and easy to understand. Not too much going on.

Whistle for Willie is by Ezra Jack Keats. It was published in 1964. A young boy, Peter, wants to whistle to his dog in order to get his attention. He notices everybody else can do it but he can‘t seem to be able to. He tries a few other ways to get his dog to follow him but he doesn‘t succeed. By the end of the story, he figured out how to whistle!

Lovely! I'd only read Snowy Day then found this at the local library here in Tokyo. Even the toddler was drawn to the bright collage illustrations (the dog helped too). Super cute! #babyreads #picturebook #citylife #collage
