OnlyYoo Hi, I was wondering if you had gotten a chance to read Camille yet? Or maybe you sent it in the mail already and it got lost? 1w
StephanieGeiser @OnlyYoo Hi! I@am so sorry for being THAT book club member! Yes, I still have your book but I‘m sorry to say I haven‘t had a chance to finish it yet, though I would still like to. Do you mind if I hang onto it for a little longer so I can add my notes? If not, I totally understand and can get it in the mail this week. 1w
OnlyYoo Yeah you can continue to read it! I was just concerned it got lost in the mail. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did tho! 1w
StephanieGeiser @OnlyYoo Thank you! I am so sorry it‘s taken me this long but I‘ll have it back to you soon! 1w

Panpan

I can‘t believe that people spend money on this book and that the author and illustrator are making money off of this! The writing is overly simplistic - just a numbered list of 1 or 2 word entries and the illustrations that are paired with each cat “use” look rushed and childish. As a cat lover I wanted to love this book but didn‘t find it enjoyable. Skip it.

Very similar to the movie and since I loved the movie I also loved the book! Meryl Streep was too perfect so I kept picturing her throughout my read, which is not a problem at all in my mind. 😂

Ok, so I actually finished this book a few weeks ago but forgot to post about it. (And if you don‘t post about it, it doesn‘t count, right? 😉)

I really like Gretchen and her work so I enjoyed this book. However, if you have read other things (books, blog posts, etc.) on this topic, then there really won‘t be anything new for you here. But it did motivate me to declutter and look at some of my stuff in a new way, just like I was hoping it would.

A great thriller! What it lacked in surprising twists it made up for in the truly disturbing. I couldn‘t put it down and can‘t wait to read more by Flynn.

Last night I finished this #lmpbc pick! Tonight I will package it up and tomorrow it will be on it‘s way to @OnlyYoo 💌

I won‘t say much here so I don‘t ruin it for the others in the group who haven‘t read yet. However, I‘m between a pick and a so-so here. I didn‘t love the plot but I LOVED Hackman‘s writing style (so much so it almost made up for the former)! I‘ll definitely be reading more by him in the future.

Bren912 I loved “Ove”. I just Finished ‘Beartown‘ by same author. It‘s a wonderful read. 3mo

With only 12 days until the end of the month and the mailing deadline for this round of #lmpbc, it‘s probably about time I start this one! I watched the movie a while ago and started (briefly) reading this about a year ago before it had to be returned to the library. So here we go again!

#NewBookMonday

I finished all of my “in progress” reads while on vacation last week. So on this bleary-eyed Monday morning I get to treat myself to a new beach read (with the vain hope I will feel like I am still on vacation).

In short, this is a must-read for anyone who is grieving or facing a major life change, especially one they did not anticipate.

This book was chosen for my book club to read in the month of August and once we are done I will be passing on my copy to a friend who unexpectedly lost her husband at the beginning of this year. I hope it brings her comfort. In any case, it has equipped me to be a better friend when anyone is coping with tragedy.

I finished this one while on vacation on Cape Cod earlier this week. It was the perfect pick for a light summer beach read. If you read/watched and enjoyed the first installment of The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, you‘ll enjoy catching up with the girls during their next summer vacation! And yes, I did enjoy the first one a little bit more but that won‘t stop me from picking up the third book in the series soon!

I finished this about a week ago but apparently forgot to post about it- oops!

In any case, I LOVED this book! I hadn‘t heard of Elizabeth Holmes or Theranos before this book was chosen for my book club‘s next pick. I devoured this book quickly and can‘t wait to watch the HBO documentary next! The author did a fantastic job of outlining the facts while making the science accessible to everyone. Highly recommended read.

Read for this latest round of #lmpbc so I won‘t say much here since the other readers in my group haven‘t gotten it yet.

However, I will say that I enjoyed the format of this book; I didn‘t expect something written by 18 people to come across so cohesively. It is also an interesting take on a subject that‘s been well documented - school gun violence. If you have an interest in this subject, I would recommend this one.

I just finished a re-read of this book because it was chosen for my work‘s next book club meeting. I remember reading it years ago (maybe in college, maybe the end of high school- I can‘t remember) and I remember really enjoying it. On this go around, I found it difficult to get into and keep track of chronologically. However, about 70% of the way in I was hooked again and fell in love with the characters and story once more.

Our love has been the thread through the labyrinth, the net under the high-wire walker, the only real thing in this strange life of mine that I could ever trust. I found myself distracted from what could have been some sage advice by a pompous author. There were some great quotes and bits of knowledge in here but nothing particular earth-shattering. There are so many other self-help books I would recommend prior to this one.
