A short but interesting read. It was creepy but not scary. I can imagine it as a movie being freaky

Not necessarily 20 years, but I definitely go down rabbit holes of needing to know more about certain niche topics. Currently? Mob/Mafia/Organized crime in a time period of 1940s-1960s surrounding the immigrant experience during that time and comparing it to what is considered to be the “American Dream.” I have problems 🤦‍♀️😂 lol

Saw this on serial reader. An interesting premise and a demonic monkey spirit. Written in the mid 1800‘s so the writing style was not appealing to me. A modern retelling of this could be awesome 😎

GirlChandler I couldn‘t resist LeFanu‘s novella Carmilla after it was billed to me as a lesbian vampire story. Overall, not bad. 7y
Anescapewithinthepages I just read this one as well and actually loved it. It‘s eerie tone was simple yet effective. 7y

For a classic writer his format is modern. I really enjoyed this short story. I mean who doesn't love a demonic monkey? If your enjoy gothic literature and need a quick read pick up this story and let me know what you think!
