Pickpick

This is the story of two babies swapped at birth and the ramifications of that event 15 years later, Adele Parks does not disappoint. Ever. She totally caught me in this book. I actually didn't like the main character for most of the book but she intrigued me, kept me turning the pages. I could barely put it down to see what happened next. Really enjoyed this.

The premise of this was amazing and it started so promisingly! It's a shame Parks felt the need to introduce the predictable twist that she did - detracting from what could have been a really interesting concept - a concept of which would have stood up itself without the need for a "clever" turn. Certainly not an unenjoyable read, but doesn't reach its full potential unfortunately. #thestrangerinmyhome #adeleparks

RaimeyGallant Now I really want to know what the predictable twist was. 7y

It was only ok. The twist was interesting but felt like it was lacking something overall

An interesting story that starts with the discovery that 2 daughters were accidentally switched at birth, and leads on to a kidnap/race against time thriller. The characters are fantastically crafted and all have multiple layers making them both interesting and engaging - this is what made the book for me! The storyline hinges on being predictable and is slow in places, but I enjoyed it none the less! It definitely picks up towards the end!
